Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-Grade 3 Children familiar with the large rabbit's dilemma in Big Bunny and the Easter Eggs (Holiday, 1982) (he comes down with the flu on Easter eve) will welcome this new adventure. Big Bunny, alias the Easter Bunny, is certainly ready for Easter this year. The eggs are painted and decorated, the baskets full and ready for secret delivery early Easter morning. However, Big Bunny decides he is bored with the whole routine and, with Easter only a few days away, he hires himself out as a magician's assistant. His smaller rabbit friends are in a state of near-panic and attempt to "convince" Big Bunny to resume his role as the one and only Easter Bunny. Stevens' full-color illustrations, although not as pleasing as those in the first book (a few border on garish), are humorous and detailed enough to support the text and will probably appeal to children. Overall, a pleasant addition to the rather sparse number of titles available to librarians hunting for Easter stories to read aloud. Barbara McGinn, Oak Hill Elementary School Media Center, Severna Park, Md.
