A lively and fast moving story.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bureau 13 (Paperback)
The Bureau 13 series (at least 3 that I know of) is a lively and fast moving adventure. This series describes the adventures of a group of FBI agents who use a mix of technology and magic to protect the US from a variety of dangers including vampire carrots. The action is well paced and tongue firmly in cheek throughout.
While definatley light weight they are a damn fine read and a good use of several hours of spare time. I reccomend these books to younger readers, RPG players and anyone else who likes the action fast, the humor broad and the and the puns excrutiating

Hilarious. It has that perfect mix of fantasy, military factuality, and humor. Bureau 13 where you discover that the myths aren't and the monsters might be on your side.

Beg, borrow or steal this book. Narnia with an attitude meets the X-files, with some Python thrown in.

This book is one of the most outstanding and fascinating books I have ever read. The characters are greatly developed, the humor is perfectly timed and incredibly witty, and the story line is deeply engrossing. I highly reccommended this book to all my friends, and they loved it. The only bad part is the series has stopped after three books. I would love to see another one. Please, anyone with even an interest in sci-fi or fantasy, pick this book up, it is brilliant!

Excellent work in light hearted science fiction,

The art of science fiction comedy seems almost lost at times and then you stumble on a book like this. The characters are interesting, the setting fascinating, and the story engrossing. All of that and excellent humor. This story is based on the RPG "Stalking the Night Fantastic" by Tri Tac industries and has done more to strike interest in this particular RPG than anything done by Tri Tac. Any fan of the X-Files would find this book good, since it is a more humorous example of the X-Files. I have no qualms recommending this book to anyone with an interest in science fiction.

I picked this book up one summer vacation for some light reading. I found it to be the absolute best sci-fi/fantasy book I have ever had the pleasure of reading. If you are out there Nick, I'm still waiting for a 4th installment.

I have read and re-read this book so many times that it is literally in tatters. I need a new copy, that's how good this book is! Truly an unsung classic, which leaves you salivating for more...Nick Pollotta does indeed give us more, with the books "Full Moonster", and "Alien Academy", both fantastic and worthy sequels, which follow storylines brilliantly! I had the DISTINCT PLEASURE of corresponding with the author himself, and I learned that Tri-Tac Books will be re-releasing the trilogy in March of 2000 if all goes well, but until then, I will continue my hunt for an original print copy! DON'T MISS THIS BOOK! ! !

More Please!,

This review is from: Bureau 13 (Paperback)
I just discovered the Bureau 13 novels (there are only three of them) and they're fantastic! Laughed until my ribs hurt all the way through. Plus the heroes really have to pay for their victories, they get wounded and major characters die. But more importantly, the characters are a real team, each member gets their time to shine, and while each is a tough hombre, when working together as unit are they truly strong. Never seen that before in any novel and I loved it! I found my copies in a used book store and was hoping to find new copies online. But no such luck. Hey, Mr. Pollotta, get back to work and write more of these right now!
