This review is from: Burgade's Crossing (Mass Market Paperback)
This collection is better than 3 stars; it's just that I'm not a fan of short stories and thought I was getting a novel. Quincannon and his partner in crime-detection Sabina have a series of adventures in these stories. All the classic western components are here, plus the frontier crime detection. I was reminded of nothing so much as the novels of Carole Nelson Douglas in which Irene, contemporary of Sherlock Holmes, does some smooth deducing of her own. Burgade's Crossing is an enjoyable afternoon's read.
