3.0 out of 5 stars A good pleasure read, although disappointing ending
I fairly enjoyed this book. The characters were very likable and had depth to them. I loved that the author wasn't "preachy" about religion. I read Christian fiction because the books are clean, not because I want to listen to a sermon. The author was very good about having religion in the characters' lives without detracting or distracting from the storyline. The...

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing suspense, January 24, 2008
This review is from: Buried Sins (Three Sisters Inn, Book 3) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #80) (Mass Market Paperback)
Caroline Hampton's new husband has been killed in a car crash. At first she is devastated, then she learns that Tony wasn't all she had believed. Someone wants something he had, and suddely Caroline's life is in danger. Desperate, she flees back home to the one place she feels safe, The Three Sister's Inn, and her grandmother and sisters. But is home the safe haven she expected?
Zachary Burkholter, police chief of Churchville, Pennsylvania, stops Caroline for speeding the minute she hits town. From the way she behaves, he suspects she's hiding something. He plans to keep an eye on her, and not just because of his suspicion. Caroline is one attractive lady.
Marta Perry's Three Sister's Inn series is extremely delightful. I have enjoyed each book, but in my opinion this is her best. Readers who want their romance spiked with a dash of suspense will love this series. If you haven't discovered Marta Perry's stories, give them a try. You'll be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the series, July 3, 2008
By
This review is from: Buried Sins (Three Sisters Inn, Book 3) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #80) (Mass Market Paperback)
The other two books are almost a copycat but this one is entirely different. The other two are love stories, this is a "thrilling" love story. It has some loose ends but nonetheless is a very good reading and you can read this book without reading the other two. But you can't read the second book "A Christmas to Die For" with out reading the first one "Hide in Plain Sight".

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant Surprise, June 13, 2009

I was pleasantly surprised by this novel. It was very well written with an engrossing story line that has a lot of twists and turns. If you are looking for a novel that gives an in depth look at living Amish (as I was) this is not the one to buy. However I would recommend buying this one for the other reasons that I gave above. It is more than worth its low price. Also while religion figures into the story it is not presented in a "preachy" manner at all. A thoroughly entertaining read that should be appreciated by everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars More like 4 1/2 stars...., July 15, 2008
This review is from: Buried Sins (Three Sisters Inn, Book 3) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #80) (Mass Market Paperback)
Someone is after Caroline Hampton. Her husband of only a few months is dead and she is realizing that she knew nothing at all about the man she married. Fleeing to her family's home in Amish country, Caroline will have to face all of her own fears, especially when she gets the attention of local Police Chief Zach Burkhalter. But has she been followed? What secrets will Caroline uncover?

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and it was nice to see it all conclude so satisfactorily. I must admit that I will miss visiting with the local folks of the town Marta Perry has created, however. There is such a sense of loyalty and camaraderie in this Pennsylvania town that its hard to let the residents go.

Caroline has had a long and tough journey. Her issues coping with those in authority, particularly law enforcement, has its roots in her early years and it will take time, God, and the patience of Zach, for her to move forward. Marta Perry does an excellent job at showing Caroline's road back to faith, family, and love.

The religious aspects of this story underpin the entire plot but are not in your face. Rather, we are shown a constant, caring God and spirituality that support loved ones in their darkest hours. BURIED SINS is a thoroughly satisfying read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book Three, August 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Buried Sins (Three Sisters Inn, Book 3) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #80) (Mass Market Paperback)
This the last book in the series of three sisters who find their way home. This sister came home through a series of bizarre circumstances starting with the death of her husband. I enjoyed the big city coming to grips with country people and country life. The Police Chief was clear in my mind...as he reminded me a lot of my husband. Again, this book was fast paced and easy to read. I was hooked from page one. The main character deals with her past that shaped her present in order to face the future. I love the subtle guidance she receives explaining how God does not leave us...it is us who leave him. This book might have been my favorite of the series.

Thanks for the fun!!

The romance wasn't too cheesy like I've found in a lot of books. At the same time, it left much to be desired. I rolled my eyes a few times at the implausible parts of the storyline. The main characters had a lot of tension in their conversations as the main guy always seemed to walk in right when something suspicious was going on. Still, I appreciated the genuine conversations and chemistry between the two. You could understand why they were attracted to each other. I was disappointed with the end of the book. The author so carefully built up the story line, only to rush it at the end. The ending crushed all character development and I left the book feeling unsatisfied, wishing that the author had written a little more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspense in Amish Country!, December 20, 2011

Buried Sins by Marta Perry is the third in The Three Sister's Inn series. I've enjoyed all three books. While all are cozy mysteries and romance, this third tended toward more suspense. I could not guess who done it! What a surprise! I loved all the emotional problems that are brought out in all the main characters of all three books. Love of God, family, and humanity is presented as ways of handling what life deals out. Caro is the last of the three sisters to find her place back into the loving embrace of her grandmother and acceptance into her sisters' lives once again. Always careful to respect the laws of the land, Caro finds herself implemented in thievery and murder while barely escaping death herself. Excellent fireside read! Enjoy this exciting Christian mystery/romance.

Great book, really enjoyed it, a very easy read. Didn't realise this was the third book in the series, but it was still a good read. You could read this as a stand alone book. You won't be disappointed if you buy it.
