5.0 out of 5 stars You Can't Put it Down, September 29, 2002
This review is from: Buried Treasures of California (Paperback)
I started reading this book and could not put it down. Perhaps for me this book was something very special that it may not be to all. I travel the hills of California on a regular basis, in search of treasure, or just the opportunity to pretend that I am that forty-niner in 1877 digging around in a cold, dark, creaking mine. There is something incredibly relaxing about stepping back in time and exploring a miner's stomping ground. Well if lost treasure intrigues you, and you love short stories, than buy this book. You will not be unhappy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Rich Yet, September 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Buried Treasures of California (Paperback)
I know there's treasure in California, the problem is where? The bad news is even when this book suggests locations, its not accessible. Public land (park lands, forests) use prohibits treasure hunting in all but the most desolate areas (BLM designated areas). Private property searches require the owners consent. Put away your metal detector and enjoy the stories of lost treasure, good hunting if you dare to look.
