I have to say as someone who buys frequently from Amazon, I felt compelled to write my first review on this book. This story is one that is near and dear to me. Although I never got a chance to meet Burke personally I would have been honored if I had. This is a must read book that tells the story of one courageous boy and the struggles that he incurred because of a horrible digusting disease. That disease is Cystic Fibrosis. It also tells how he had a Boyd's Bear named after him. That bear is Burke P. Bear. To find out more, buy the book!!

I have known the story of Burke and the Boyd's bear named for him for many years. This book will touch your life as your learn of Burke's struggles, how the Boyd's bear was named for him, and how this little bear's journey enlightens us about CF.
Boyd's bears touch many of us in so many ways. My Burke P. Bear has a prominant place in my home. The long awaited book is a true marriage of 2 worlds and Burke would be proud!

This book was a touching look into a young man named Burke's fight with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). It is also so motivational. A Boyd's bear was named after Burke and sent throughout the world to educate about CF. The "tour" the bear took is amazing to read about. I recommend this book to anyone who is insterested in learning about CF or just wants to learn about the amazing young man who struggled with it.

Burke's Tour is about a young man, Burke, who lived with a progressive inherited disease called Cystic Fibrosis, who began collecting bears at a young age. It tells of how Burke's wish to 'help' find a cure for CF comes true in a Boyd's Bear, a bear named after him. Burke P. Bear to date travels the world spreading CF awareness, along with love, peace, having fun, and raising millions of dollars in research toward finding the cure. The cure that Burke so wanted to help find.

My Burke P. Bear and Burke's Tour book have a special place in my home. Those moments when I glance at them, I smile and wonder where in the world at that very moment Burke P. Bear may be--spreading CF awareness, love, peace, having fun. A heartfelt "thank you" to the author, Bob Derr, for sharing Burke's legacy with the world.

I stumbled across Burke P Bear on the CFWW Website, as soon as I saw him, and read the story of Burke's Legacy I had to have one for Joel.
I was forwarded on to Bob Derr and ordered my first Bear.
Pretty soon we shipped 15 Bears to Australia to start sending Burke on to CF Kids in Australia.
Bob sent me a copy of his Book, which took me months to read.

It was similar to Joel's start in life!
We have now been adopted by Burke and Linda Derr, Im their Aussie Cubby Bear, the Kids are the Grandcubs and my Husband Craig is Hubby Bear.
I honestly can not wait to meet these people face to face

What a fantastic, heartwarming story! This is a great read for anyone interested in a human interest story.

What a great kid Burke must have been! I wish that I had the chance to know him. It sounds like his spirit and his legacy are felt by those who knew him and those who read about him or come across his namesake bear every day.
