It's built well, looks very good.
What really sold us on the Burley over all the other brands was the resale value.
We have a 1 year old and a 3 year old and they love it.

I have compared this to the Chariot Cabriolet, the Burley Encore, and the Chariot Cougar 1 (as there was no double in the store - I would have had to order a double).

I felt that the Cougar provided a bit more headroom and somewhat comfier interior for the child; however it came with a higher price tag even without add-ons, lower quality (IMO) elastic edged covers, and way less storage. My kids would like it, it would resell well, but the lack of storage means it is not the best fit for us.

The Cabriolet is very nice as far as room and comfort for the children and it literally seems to float behind the bike. BUT - it lacks a handlebar (just nice to push it around when not on a bike), has the same excessive elastic use as the Cougar, and only a moderate amount of storage. Nice little trailer, a better deal than the Cougar, not perfect. (none are)

Encore is very similar to D'Lite except for being a bit narrower, which is not as much of a concern if you have kids with a gap in age, but I have twins who are going to take up more room side by side than an older and younger sib. At 3 1/2 my more or less average girls looked squished. I would like the option of both girls being able to ride in here until age 5, even though odds are we will be swapping seats out and most of the time it will be one girl + the baby, so the Encore doesn't seem like a good choice for us. If you have a gap, I would consider saving the $$$ and buying the Encore.

So here are the things I find D'LITEFUL about the D'lite. HUGE trunk which is key for us as I want to use this for day-out family outings (4 kids, 2 adults). The cover is tailored to fit and fits like a glove, no elastic to wear out, no pesky children pulling cover aside.

My husband and I just purchased new bikes (Scott - Sportsters) and we have a two year old daughter that we needed a trailer for. Every bike shop we visited stood behind the Burley brand. I have to admit I did not like the price tag, but after going home and doing my research I can totally see why the Bike shops all recommend the Burley D'Lite. It is very easy to assemble, very easy to tow and simple to collapse and store. It is made with quality material and has a sharp look to it. The seats inside are padded to absorb the shock of bumpy rides, the circulation was perfect (we saw my daughter's hair dance in the wind) and there is plenty of room in the back for a backpack, picnic lunch etc. Better yet my daughter loved it! She was so comfy that she fell asleep half way through our 12 mile ride. The D'lite can accommodate two children up to 100lbs, so we can still use it when baby #2 comes along.

What really sold us on the Burley over all the other brands was the resale value. We scoured eBay and Craiglist before buying a new one and found that the used Burleys were only slightly cheaper. I e-mailed one Craigslist seller only to find out she had several other interested buyers and I would have to be part of a bidding war. So we decided to purchase a new one, use it for a few years and get a good portion of our money back with resale.

My wife and I were looking for a trailer that could carry our 15 month year old daughter. She initially baulked at the price, until she realised that the resale value here in Australia will almost be the same as the purchase price.

We purchased this trailer for the following reasons
    -- great quality
    -- recessed space for helmet
    -- suspension and reclined seat.

The price here in Australia was over $1000 RRP, so too expensive to buy brand new here. It took 3 days to deliver which I thought was incredible. It came in one box, and once opened it took about 10 minutes to read through the manual and setup. Brilliant design and once you have a closer look at the materials, you can easily tell it's top quality.

We've taken our daughter out once in it and she's loved it. Very easy to use and unclip, the brake is a great feature and it fits in our Holden Astra 4 door hatch, meaning it folds up to a very decent size. Make sure you check the measurements before purchasing as it makes it easier to go on holidays.

We chose the Burley over the Chariot and other brands of trailers because of the price and the fantastic recommendations we've seen on the Internet. It's a little narrower than the Chariot and I believe it provides more space for the child inside. I think the reclining seat and recessed helmet space is very important. The cheaper trailers don't include this, and just on the weekend whilst riding she fell asleep so we reclined the seats and she was very comfortable.

We just bought the stroller kit so looking forward to using that.

This is a fantastic trailer, well made too. A+ product
I purchased the classic 2006 Burley D'lite 10/2012 from a man on CL for $55 he bought the trailer from REI for $500 back in 2006 and in all seriousness it's now 2013 and the bike trailer still looks new. I believe I got a dang good deal! The tires are fabulous, the material is great, all the strap work great. My 8month old loves to to sit and enjoy the ride. He looks around, he's very quiet and observant, he also does some snoozing while we do a tiny bit of off-roading.
The older model has a metal bar around the wheel area, kinda looks like a mini roll cage. The color of the trailer is the bright blue, and yellow, sitting area is black, has plastic to keep rain out, came with a flag, and the adapter to make it a stroller too. The only thing we had to improve was buying the BURLEY FORGED HITCH on this site for $22. We needed to upgrade because the classic hitch is all plastic and does not fit our mountain bikes that have disc brakes. We need a second one that I will buy very soon because it's 2 minutes to much trouble to change the forged hitch out from bike to bike.
