My husband and I just purchased new bikes (Scott - Sportsters) and we have a two year old daughter that we needed a trailer for. Every bike shop we visited stood behind the Burley brand. I have to admit I did not like the price tag, but after going home and doing my research I can totally see why the Bike shops all recommend the Burley D'Lite. It is very easy to assemble, very easy to tow and simple to collapse and store. It is made with quality material and has a sharp look to it. The seats inside are padded to absorb the shock of bumpy rides, the circulation was perfect (we saw my daughter's hair dance in the wind) and there is plenty of room in the back for a backpack, picnic lunch etc. Better yet my daughter loved it! She was so comfy that she fell asleep half way through our 12 mile ride. The D'lite can accommodate two children up to 100lbs, so we can still use it when baby #2 comes along.
What really sold us on the Burley over all the other brands was the resale value. We scoured eBay and Craiglist before buying a new one and found that the used Burleys were only slightly cheaper. I e-mailed one Craigslist seller only to find out she had several other interested buyers and I would have to be part of a bidding war. So we decided to purchase a new one, use it for a few years and get a good portion of our money back with resale.

It's a burley. . . that is really all i should have to say. We were thinking of buying a used one but found out about the upgrades to the interior so we investigated the new ones. . . they now have a 3 point harness inside and then a lap belt that goes over top. with a 9 month old we determined that we just may get back to biking sooner if we could strap her in really well. . . the 3 year old would have been fine with either. the interior is really nice and padded and the padding for the shoulder straps looks comfy. our only problem is the baby really seems to HATE her helmet. . .
the 3 year old wants to ride all day every day! can't wait for the baby to catch up! It is a well made very nice product - i have a friend that owns a REALLY old one and it is holding up just fine. This is something that i plan on having for a VERY long time. i wasn't looking for a bargain, i want the safest trailer out there and that is why i bought a Burley.

My wife and I were looking for a trailer that could carry our 15 month year old daughter. She initially baulked at the price, until she realised that the resale value here in Australia will almost be the same as the purchase price.
We purchased this trailer for the following reasons -- great quality -- recessed space for helmet -- suspension and reclined seat. The price here in Australia was over $1000 RRP, so too expensive to buy brand new here. It took 3 days to deliver which I thought was incredible. It came in one box, and once opened it took about 10 minutes to read through the manual and setup. Brilliant design and once you have a closer look at the materials, you can easily tell it's top quality. We've taken our daughter out once in it and she's loved it. Very easy to use and unclip, the brake is a great feature and it fits in our Holden Astra 4 door hatch, meaning it folds up to a very decent size. Make sure you check the measurements before purchasing as it makes it easier to go on holidays. We chose the Burley over the Chariot and other brands of trailers because of the price and the fantastic recommendations we've seen on the Internet. It's a little narrower than the Chariot and I believe it provides more space for the child inside. I think the reclining seat and recessed helmet space is very important. The cheaper trailers don't include this, and just on the weekend whilst riding she fell asleep so we reclined the seats and she was very comfortable.
