GREAT addition to your workout.

The Burn Machine allows me to get some cardio exercise and it gives me that "pumped" feeling in my upper chest, shoulders, forearms and biceps.

I am pushing 50 but still work out quite a bit, this thing is a honey.

I am not a body builder, nor do I box, and am in the middle age range. I purchased this machine from Amazon to get better upper body workout without using a big machine. I have tried so many small "appliances" as I call them (a spinning top small "gym" apparatus, cords, bands, etc.) They did not produce the range of motion needed, nor the strength/stamina needed, and the user reaches the maximum capability too soon.
The burn machine is different. First, it is probably the BEST made small workout machine I have ever used. It is incredibly sturdy. You can use it right out of the box. It is easy to use, and has a lot of different exercises that really challenge the stomach area (if you stand straight, and don't hunch, as I was prone to do initially), the arms, back and shoulders.
I decided to get the "intermediate" machine (8 lbs) to challenge myself, but not really over challenge. And let me tell you, 8 pounds may not seem like a lot, but oh my, can you feel it after a short period of time.
I roll forward, backward, sideways, and do the interesting "spinning" motion as described on the DVD. I am really confident that this machine will not lose its challenge factor anytime soon! The day I can get to 2 minutes of the exercises I will be dancing around the room, that is how challenging it is!
And I actually LOOK FORWARD to using it, probably because I can feel the machine working, and feel the progress. I totally recommend this little machine. Of course, everyone should check with a physician before any exercise routine, but for me, it is a brilliant idea that fits the bill.

I am pushing 50 but still work out quite a bit, this thing is a honey.
Sometimes I get lazy and don't feel like benching or picking up a curling bar, I grab this thing and within a minute or less I feel like Hulk Hogan ... Pumps my arms like nothing else, and a good all around cardio because after a few seconds you do have to huff and puff and put everything you have into it, so aside from the arms it gets your chest, abs and even stomach.
Super easy top store, takes up no room ... I just hand mine on a cabinet handle.
I got the heaviest one, wouldn't trade it for a deluxe bowflex ,,, Ok I lied I would, but I'd sell the bowflex on craigslist and just get me another burn machine !
I have let friends try this, and some pretty jacked up guys. When I tell them about the pump and they see it, they are like ,,, You're kidding right ? This thing ? Well, most of them can't even last half a minute spinning this thing, I couldn't when I first got it. They have all been very impressed, most have gone on to get their own.

To those who say its repetitive and boring ,,, Don't know what to say. I guess eating, breathing and going to the bathroom every day can be as well ... Not to mention situps and pushups are not exactly known for their stunning variety. Any form of exercise is repetitive ,,, If you think its boring then you probably just don't like to exercise and are looking for an excuse to loaf around.

I purchased both the Burn Machine and the Bar Bell machine. Both were shipped in seperate boxes and both contained a DVD on the usage. The only problem was that one of the DVD's was cracked and the other DVD will run and then freeze at a certain point and go no further....thus you miss out on some of the exercise demonstrations. You do get a poster, but it only shows a few exercises.

I even took a shot at having some computer geeks try to get it working...people who make their living doing this.....no luck.

The machines themselves are excellent, but with no one to demonstrate what exercises can be performed, I am forced to use my imagination and fall back on the standard free weight training I have been doing for years, and just guess. The adjustment handles are a big step formard in helping the wrist and other parts, but for the price I paid for both machines, you would think I would at least get one quality DVD. I have taken them to my boxing gym and to a standard workout gym, but no one is familiar with the machine or barbell. They enjoyed working out with them, but like me, they are just as in the dark as to their full range of usage.

If you know how to use it right, it is one of the best workouts. I've literally come up with several and still find myself coming up with new creative movements and SAFE workouts. Lately, I've been catering my workouts towards my golf swing, which for most golfers is an art form in itself much like yoga. I played last weekend and noticed my swing feels more flexible, under control, and overall stronger from using the Burn Machine. My core and back felt great! Being my first time out this year it was hard to gauge, but when I did make solid contact I was crushing the ball further. I'm not sure if they have DVDs, but someone working for Burn Machine needs to have someone make workout instructional videos catering towards different sports. The videos I've seen are only a fraction of the workouts I've come up with, mostly on accident. HIRE ME! I'LL MAKE YOU $ lol!

The first time I saw a Burn Machine, Brock Lesner's team on The Ultimate Fighter was using them. My consumerism got the better of me and I immediately started hunting the Internet looking for one. When it arrived, I first used it hardcore and literally burned myself out. However, recently I've been using it in a manner like tai-chai, yoga, and incorporating the basic workout movements you'd see someone doing in a gym. My only knock I have is that I wish they made heavier Burn Machines, but it is great and offers many workouts that maybe you couldn't do with the Kettle Bells. I'd recommend it, definitely for you cubical desk-jockys out there with a sedentary life and not much space. I even bought my mother the lightest Burn Machine a few years ago for Mother's Day, she's 70. Don't think you can ever put a price on improving one's health, within reason of course :)
