5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest/Underrated Metal LP of all time, August 1, 2002

This review is from: Burn to My Touch (Audio CD)
This is arguably one of THE BEST METAL CDs or all time, which is why it's horribly rare...if you can find one, get one FAST because you're going to play it until it MELTS. Liege Lord are arguably the only GOOD thing to ever emerge from Connecticut besides FATES WARNING...and they're even BETTER than Fates Warning, although they never made it 'big' like that band. Guitars, Bass and Drums in Liege Lord are all very, very good (on this cd the production is a bit 'budget' but the talent still shines out), but the crowning glory of Liege Lord is vocalist Andy Michaud, whose operatic voice has apparently 6 octaves, soaring to incredible heights without ever 'screaming', the BEST metal vocalist I've ever heard, even outdoing Eric Adams of MANOWAR. All songs are thrash/power metal, very fast and all sound great except the lyrics are hard to track without a lyric sheet...Liege Lord got a different vocalist for 'Master Control', which is probably why it's they're last album. But BURN TO MY TOUCH is a must-have classic...K.K.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic US Power Metal, July 29, 2006
This review is from: Burn to My Touch (Audio CD)
1987's Burn to My Touch was the second album from US power metal band Liege Lord. The band continued the uncompromising NWOBHM-worshipping power metal sound they started on Freedom's Rise, sounding very much like a cross between Helstar and Obsession. This is classic power metal like you could only find on Metal Blade in the mid 1980's.

Burn to My Touch is a great power metal album, and should appeal to just about any power metal fan. Those of you who enjoy Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Jag Panzer, and Helstar should definitely find Liege Lord right up your alley. If you're new to the band, I'd recommend starting with their 1988 follow-up Master Control, but Burn to My Touch is also well worth hearing.

Edition Notes: Metal Blade's 1998 reissue of Burn to My Touch may not have any bonus material, but does feature stunning digitally remastered sound, which breathes new life into the classic album.
