This book really surprised me. I did not expect it to be as good as it is. There are really two mysteries in this story. i am not going to say more on that part as I don't want to spoil it for you.

The story is well written, only has a couple typos that I saw, and keeps your interest from page one to the end. The ending is fantastic and you will see Loretta come of age, so to speak.

The characters are well written and described. Yes, one or two are kept in a sort of mystery fog for a bit as it suits the intrigue in the story. You are going to be able to relate to all of them, especially Loretta.

There are no sex scenes in this book other than a couple nice kisses.

Loretta "Bitters" Loveless is a barmaid in the Stupid Cupid Saloon. She makes a mean drink, loves Dwight Yoakam, and matching people together with their soulmates.

When her boss ends up dead in a freak accident involving a 50 year old mounted ox head. Bitters soon realizes that there is nothing as it seems in Broken Hearts Junction. When a handsome stranger starts appearing nearly everywhere she goes, Bitters realizes something else too. Nobody is as they seem in Broken Hearts Junction either.

This is a really good story folks. Worth the price. Enjoy your book.

I loved this book. The romance was heartwarming and the mystery very interesting. I also love the matchmaker aspect of the story and how it tied in to the mystery. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really liked this author's Christmas River series so I was excited to see another book from her. I love the main character, Bitters. You have to admire her strength and personality. The story will definitely hit home with anyone who has gone through a break-up. It's a clever, funny story and is a quick read. Looking forward to more from Meg Muldoon, would recommend this one for sure.

You really want Loretta to be happy. You can not help but care about her and want things to work out. I am a fan of Meg Muldoon's other cozy series and found this one equally enjoyable. Looking forward to the next in the series!

Loretta “Bitters” Loveless, a bartender at the Stupid Cupid Saloon, a formerly very hot nightspot in the middle of nowhere, has three joys in her life – Dwight Yoakam, mixing the perfect cocktail, and helping people find their “soulmates”. Make that four things, she loves the Stupid Cupid Saloon even more than the owners, treating the saloon like it’s her own, despite the fact she’s just a bartender. Once upon a time, the saloon was a stop on the tour for up and coming country acts. Now it’s home to whatever hideous band the lackadaisical owners can find to play there.

Bitters has helped hundreds of people find true love, but then her own “soulmate” leaves her in Broken Hearts Junction to pursue a career in country music. She’s spent three years pining away for him, willing him to return home to her, with no success. She starts to lose faith in her own abilities and decides to give up matchmaking permanently. Her boss ends up dead in a freak accident involving a moose head. People in the gossipy little town speculate about her possible involvement in the crime- prior to his death, the boss had announced he was turning the bar into an all-sports, all the time bar and when that happened, Bitters was free to seek success elsewhere. Even if she didn’t really like him, or the way he treated her bar, she knows no one deserves to die like that, and sets out to figure out who did him in.

I’m a big fan of the author’s Christmas River series, and was intrigued by the idea of someone who gets flashes of insight about other people’s soulmates. (OK, the idea of a “soulmate” actually makes me want to urp, but I am a sucker for happy endings.) I ended up liking this way more than I thought I would.

What a fun book! You've got Bitters a gal with a interesting gift of seeing things, one mysterious stranger along with one unsolved mystery. I really enjoyed this book Bitters was a gal you can relate to. I haven't read any of this author's previous books but now I'm going to starting out with the sequel in this series. And for those like me who are animal lovers et al got one st.bernard in this you'll love just like I did! Thanks for the fun Meg :)
