Book Description

Sassy saloon barmaid Loretta “Bitters” Loveless loves three things in life.
Mixing up a mean cocktail, listening to Dwight Yoakam, and matching folks with their soulmates.
Born with a supernatural gift for matchmaking, Bitters has helped hundreds of people find true love. But when Bitters’ own soulmate leaves her behind in the dust of Broken Hearts Junction, she loses all faith in her abilities and decides to give up on matchmaking altogether.
But when her boss ends up dead in a freak accident involving a mounted ox head, Bitters discovers she has bigger steaks to fry than her own troubled love life.
Bitters soon realizes that nothing is as it seems in Broken Hearts Junction. And when a handsome stranger starts appearing nearly everywhere she goes, Bitters realizes something else too.
No one is as they seem in Broken Hearts Junction either.
Burned in Broken Hearts Junction is the first book in the Cozy Matchmaker Mystery series.

Busted in Broken Hearts Junction, the second book in the Cozy Matchmaker Mystery series, will be out in February 2015.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good cozy mystery June 10, 2014
By Dorothy
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book really surprised me. I did not expect it to be as good as it is. There are really two mysteries in this story. i am not going to say more on that part as I don't want to spoil it for you.

The story is well written, only has a couple typos that I saw, and keeps your interest from page one to the end. The ending is fantastic and you will see Loretta come of age, so to speak.

The characters are well written and described. Yes, one or two are kept in a sort of mystery fog for a bit as it suits the intrigue in the story. You are going to be able to relate to all of them, especially Loretta.

There are no sex scenes in this book other than a couple nice kisses.

Loretta "Bitters" Loveless is a barmaid in the Stupid Cupid Saloon. She makes a mean drink, loves Dwight Yoakam, and matching people together with their soulmates.

When her boss ends up dead in a freak accident involving a 50 year old mounted ox head. Bitters soon realizes that there is nothing as it seems in Broken Hearts Junction. When a handsome stranger starts appearing nearly everywhere she goes, Bitters realizes something else too. Nobody is as they seem in Broken Hearts Junction either.

This is a really good story folks. Worth the price. Enjoy your book.

I loved this book. The romance was heartwarming and the mystery very interesting. I also love the matchmaker aspect of the story and how it tied in to the mystery. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

You really want Loretta to be happy. You can not help but care about her and want things to work out. I am a fan of Meg Muldoon's other cozy series and found this one equally enjoyable. Looking forward to the next in the series!

I really liked this author's Christmas River series so I was excited to see another book from her. I love the main character, Bitters. You have to admire her strength and personality. The story will definitely hit home with anyone who has gone through a break-up. It's a clever, funny story and is a quick read. Looking forward to more from Meg Muldoon, would recommend this one for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meg Muldoon is a Master of Cozy Mysteries! January 13, 2015
By SKP
Format:Kindle Edition
I am a big fan of Meg Muldoon's Christmas River Cozy Mysteries, but it wasn't until I finished the latest of those that I discovered she had a second series underway. I wasn't sure if I would like this one as much (her others are a tough act to follow) but as I read, it grew and grew on me until the very end when I realized I really had enjoyed it and was looking forward to the next in the series. The idea of the main character known as Bitters having visions of soulmates for scores of people and then bringing them together as a matchmaker this way seemed far fetched when I was reading a summary of the book prior to starting it. But as I got to know the characters, it made perfectly logical and believable sense to me. A very original idea for a main character, and one you can really root for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Cozy January 17, 2015
By Terie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wow! I really enjoyed this delightful cozy mystery. The romance was really good, the murder method was quite unique, and the way the mystery was plotted out was well done. I laughed, I cried, and I sighed. I could not put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed the character of Loretta and how she grew in understanding herself and love. I also thought it was neat the way other characters saw her as "Bitters" and even she thought of herself that way and as she developed she truly became "Bluebird" as Fletcher christened her. I cannot wait for the next one in the series

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story July 14, 2014

This was a very good story and I really enjoyed it. The only trouble is it needed better editing. Too many misplaced, misspelled words. Will check out more by this author and hope it will have better editing.
