The continued appeal of Burning Cold through the years is thrilling and truly humbling. It is ironic however, that the truly essential element to its success and longevity has never been identified and acclaimed at its publishing or over all its years in the public doman. I refer, of course, to the beautiful subject of book, the model Kay Sutton York, now an author and acting teacher working under the name Lena Harris.
Lena was not only the sole pictorial star of Burning Cold, but was indeed a co-creator and designer of the book--from concept to publication--along with Bernie Taupin and myself. It is so gratifying for all of us that this labor of love has remained contemporary for so many generations of individuals. Gary Bernstein |
