From the Back Cover
They live ordinary lives, but they are extraordinary. They are the Offspring, children of a mysterious experiment gone awry—and they are in terrible danger.
A government-trained assassin, Fonda Raine has her sights locked on her latest target: Eric Aruda, one of the rogue Offspring—a pyrokenetic who can create fires with just a thought. But Fonda has awesome powers of her own—and her ability to astral project and be in two places at one time enables her to put herself exactly where she wants to be . . . in Eric's bed.
Eric is stunned and pleased by the inexplicable appearance of the mysterious enchantress, unaware that Fonda plans to seduce him, throw him off his guard, and then eliminate him. But the game changes radically with the arrival of an assassin from hell with orders to destroy them both. And suddenly Fonda and Eric have only two choices: to join forces or go down in flames.
About the Author
Since she was a kid, Jaime Rush devoured books on unexplained mysteries and psychic phenomena. She knew she would be published, marry a fabulous guy, and win a Toyota Supra. Missing the romance, relationship drama, and action of her favorite television shows—X-Files, Roswell, and Highlander—she created her own mix in the Offspring series.

REVIEW: Fonda Raine is intent on revenge. Revenge on Eric Aruda in the form of murder. He killed the man she loved and destroyed her life. Nothing will stop her from killing him - nothing, except maybe she's losing her nerve just as she has him tied up and awaiting the death blow. And then this sick attraction she has begun feeling for him. Oh, and maybe the guy posing as an FBI agent that just busted through the door and is trying to kill both of them.
In a move that has her head spinning, Eric saves her from their attacker and together they make a mad dash to find out the truth of their pursuer and save themselves and their friends.
What threw me off about this novel.
It was a "chase" novel which became monotonous after a short while. It followed a pattern. Be chased, use their powers, get tired, sleep, make goo-goo eyes, try to sleep more, take a shower and shop for clothes. And it kept freakin' repeating. The oddest part was the clothes part. They shopped in fellow offsprings dead mother's closet, they shopped at a store, they shopped at Wal-Mart. It was just odd. Then they "tried" to sleep everywhere, in a car, at the Dad's house, at the half-brother's house, 3 or 4 different hotel rooms, including one sex themed motel. After like the second time I was just WTF? I think it was only a time period of 2 days and they just tried to sleep everywhere.Read more ›
Fonda Raine has one purpose left in life and that is to destroy the man who killed the man she loved. She watched her lover Jerryl incinerate before her eyes. Now, she is searching for the man responsible: Eric Aruda. Aruda and Jerryl were long time enemies. It's time for justice to be served and Fonda will be doing the serving even if she has to seduce the man to kill him.
Eric Aruda has been fighting the good fight. His only desire has been to protect his brothers and sisters in arms. The people that were born like him with abilities the world would find disturbing and fearful. They have been hunted by an evil organization determined to capture or kill them. The fight has been long and he finally defeated his nemesis, Jerryl. They waged a bitter and nasty war against one another and it has taken its toll against Eric. He is fighting debilitating exhaustion and he fears that his abilities may finally be causing him to suffer from psychosis. When he awakens and finds an ethereal woman in his room he is tempted by her but afraid she is an aberration. However, he finds her so striking that when she suggests meeting somewhere he decides to go.
Fonda has laid the perfect trap for Eric. Now all she has to do is drive a knife through his heart, but can she? Before Eric and Fonda have a chance to kill one another they find they have a common enemy. This enemy is determined to kill them, and he's more powerful than they can imagine.Read more ›
