Even great without beer.,

Hadn't heard of this band, caught them on a cold night in Vegas, on Fremont St of all places. Was impressed enough to pick up the CD (ok, had a few beers too), but listened to the first song "Interstate" driving into the sunset, on the Interstate, with my wife back to California. Being an older guy these days, sort of surprised when I find music can still make you feel. We're converts. Excellent music. Going to buy more.

The only cure is MORE FIDDLE,

As a huge fan of the Randy Rogers Band, I was anxiously awaiting this album for months! I have been a bit disappointed that it seems to be a departure from their usual sound. Anyone who has seen them live knows that Brady Black plays a mean fiddle, but where is it on this album? It's mostly a background instrument with almost no noticeable fiddle solos.Other than that, I enjoy most songs on the album, especially "Holding On to Letting Go" and "Steal You Away." I can listen to this album over and over again. Like previous Randy Rogers Band albums, it just never gets old!

So much talent and so little recognition. Just listen to the first track, "Interstate," and you will buy the record. Unbelieveable they aren't on the radio....along with Dan Colehour (you should order "Straight To The Highway" right now!!) and Wade Bowen.

This is the best CD yet from Randy Rogers Band! Great sound, laidback rhythm, some deep lyrics; easy to listen to over and over again during the commute. If you like this check out Eli Young Band, Wade Bowen, and Los Lonely Boys. All have a cool rock/blues vibe mixed with some steel and fiddle. That great Texas roadhouse sound!

Really liked this effort reminded me a little of early Eagles eg "already gone etc" and it does not come much better than that. A good mix of songs mainly upbeat with catchy country feel. If there has to be new or modern country this does it for me and not the riff laden stacatto type rhythms which seem to qualify the genre these days! A G Strait, A Jackson and D Yoakham fan! This is their best outing so far.

Another great RRB cd,
This review is from: Burning The Day (Audio CD)
The Randy Rogers Band has made yet another great set of songs. These guys have been hitting them outta the park since "Rollercoaster" and just keep getting better. Randy's writing has grown with each album and really proves it on songs like "Interstate" and "Too Late For Goodbye". The co-writes he has are outstanding, especially "Starting Over For the Last Time" written with guitarist Geoffrey Hill and bassist Johnny "Chops" Richardson.Geoffrey and Chops penned the last song on the album "Last Last Chance", which is destined to be a great beer drinking song. If you ever have a chance to see these guys live, they are one of the tightest, most down to earth bands you'll ever see. If you've never heard of RRB, grab this album and all their others for the best in Texas music, Americana, whatever the hell you want to label them. You won't regret it! |
