Wow! Great Workout!,
This review is from: Fat Burning (Functional Fitness) (DVD)
I'm a personal trainer and always looking for more ideas to train my clients in their homes. I saw Suzanne on our PBS station and ordered this DVD. You really work up a sweat and she is so motivating. She gives you 2 great workouts so you don't get bored and they only take 25 minutes. It's great for plus size too because there is a modified version seated and standing. You also can choose to do the workout with just music, which is really great, once you know the workout. The music and the workout is geared for people over 35.

Susan's dynamic, fun, and enthusiastic approach is a sure winner for anyone who wants the convenience to be able to do a workout even during a busy 9 to 5 work day. It's only 25 minutes, and her expertise gives me the confidence (and so do the results) that I am well on my way to maintaining a lean and fit body. What I like the most is results in less than 30 minutes. Wow!

Suzanne is Positive and Motivational!,

I really like Suzanne's perspective on the DVD. She is not just an "exercise guru," but she is an occupational therapist by training. So she really knows about how to specifically train for functional fitness. The exercises are simple and straightforward, with an optional chair version.
Suzanne is very inspiring with her personal success in transforming her body with fat loss and toning. Her pleasant style makes it easy to watch and follow. Her energy and enthusiasm are incredible! You'll really enjoy it and get results! Fat Burning Dr. Roy Vartabedian, author of New York Times best seller "Nutripoints: Healthy Eating Made Simple!"

As a yoga instructor myself, I'm very picky about other DVDs - but Suzanne's instruction is clear and encouraging. It's important to keep your fitness programs varied, so this is a good one to add to your collection!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fat Burning (Functional Fitness) (DVD)
I read reviewers' comments before purchasing this DVD and gathered that it is geared to the needs of senior citizens. The introduction specifies it is designed for people over 40 years old. Well, I'm 70 and there's no way I'll burn fat using this program: I didn't break a sweat. The instructor is nice, but her tone is slightly (even if unintended) condescending, as though old folks need to be spoken to like bigger children. So I'd say this exercise routine is definitely for the elderly, exercise beginners or the very out-of-shape. If the DVD were $9.99, not $19.99, I might give it another star (but probably not).

This Fat Burning DVD has some great ideas! Suzanne Andrews instructs you how to tone up your body with stuff you have around the house. There's even a paper plate workout. You can make the workout as easy or as challenging as you want, depending on what level you pick and how you do the exercises. Terrific and Fun.

Functional Fitness starring Suzanne Andrews is a great new show on PBS that helps baby boomers stay fit in the comfort of their homes. She combines her years of experience as an Occupational Therapist with a warm and engaging personality to help you retain and regain motion, flexibility and wind. You'll enjoy the show and your body will thank you. This DVD offers three variations of exercises to help you lose weight.Eat to Defeat Menopause (Recipes for a Healthy Midlife) |
