Beautiful pearls of wisdom glisten on each page. A few lines of the New Testament, mingled with a few lines from John Main's writing, is masterfully edited by Gregory Ryan. I spend a few minutes each day reading just a page or so, before practicing "centering prayer," a type of Christian meditation, that John Main's words encourage throughout the book. The book would be of benefit to any Christian, or spiritual seeker, who seeks a more intimate relationship with God. This 78 page book, carries in it so much wisdom that you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Burning Heart: Reading the New Testament With John Main author Gregory Ryan. This book is a compilation of writings from the founder of modern christian meditation. Contained in this book are his thoughts on his favourite biblical passages. Thus all the comments are pertinent for the meditator and are of assistance in the wonderful pilgrimage to the human heart.
