Burning Love was one of Elvis' best recordings period. Unfortunately Elvis' management never figured out how to package and market his albums. Instead of releasing a new album featuring his big hit single, they opted for the quick and easy buck by packaging the hit with a bunch of older, so-so songs from his movies. Yet another missed opportunity for Elvis, thanks primarily to poor management!

This and other Elvis albums released on the Camden budget label were like bonus albums between regular full priced releases. You could buy them for around four bucks or less. They introduced lots of younger fans to Elvis' music. They served their purpose well.
Admittedly all the songs weren't great, but for the price hey, what were you expecting? Of the ten songs here I personally consider seven of them very good. Only 3 "fillers". Not bad for a "cheapie" bonus album. |
