5.0 out of 5 stars Iced Earth Rules!, May 27, 2003
By Nightspeed (Galesburg, Illinois) - See all my reviews
Burnt Offerings is the best Metal Album of the 90's,and their best work ever! Dante's Inferno is a classic. This 16 min. song of pure intensity is worth buying the album alone. Other song's like Burnt Offerings,Last December, and Brainwashed are a headbanging experience not to ever forget. Matthew Barlow's voice is supernateral, and John Schaffer work on rhythm & Lead Guitar is awsome. Iced Earth's talent will forever put a dent in the metal world!

5.0 out of 5 stars Iced Earth before they woussed out, August 25, 2008
By A Customer (Hells Gate, NY United States) - See all my reviews
This was the last good from start-to-finish CD by Iced Earth. After this album, the virtuosity and complexity of the guitar work from Jon Schaeffer and Randall Shawver went down by quite a bit. Their albums after this are no doubt good, just not nearly as complex and riff-laden as this, Night of the Stormrider (probably their best), and their ST album. It is definitely darker than the dark fantasy od other albums by them. This may be a problem for some but personally I like that about it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good remaster..., January 31, 2008
By David Falzano (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
As much as I liked the remastered versions of Iced Earth's first 2 albums, unfortunately I wasn't crazy with this one. The worst part of me having to say that is that the remastered version IS really clear & crisp but unfortunately the bass is toned down & the drums no longer have that loud, bombastic sound to them which really made this album really heavy. Other than that, the new artwork is cool but man if the drums still had more of a bite to them like the original version of 'Burnt Offerings,' I clearly would have loved this newer version.
