I bought this spotting scope to use with target shooting and rifle sighting. The scope is clear to 100 yards, but the optics really suffer at any longer range. At 200 yards, the focus is slightly blurry and I can't even make out individual lines on a paper target. This is really unacceptable for a spotting scope--I'm returning this item.

This a very interesting scope . I saw a couple of great reviews on this scope on another site so decided to buy one. That was really a mistake. The scope looks very nice and actually has a cool cordura case with it . It is soposed to look "Swarvoskish" It is very professionally packaged. This thing is all about marketing it . It has the outside looks and feel of a nice $3-400 scope. BUT here is the short of it. The Highcountry is interestingly listed as having .7" of eye relief. That is a very deceiving way of advertising it as it implys that it has about 3/4" of eye relief . But that is NOT the case as that would compare to a high quality scope. They usuall list eye relief in MM and around 20MM is good for an eyeglass wearer so you wont need to remove them to look thru the scope. This scope has basically ZERO eye relief and and that figure .7 must have ment .7 of a 1/10 of an inch. When veiwed at 15X it realistically has around 5MM of eye relief which is ok if you dont wear glasses. As soon as you turn it up to 20X it has ZERO and you need to crowd your eyebrow agaisnt the ocular lens to see the whole field of view. At 45X image is quite distorted and compleatly not what your expecting looking at the outside of this scope. I have a cheapie scope that cost $25 that has every bit as good of optics as this scope actually has ............... Dont buy it as you will be very disapointed if you know anything about decent spotting scopes. Another example of how the Chinese can market garbage here in the USA as long as it looks like a expensive item and is in a real fancy box!
