Didn't know what to expect since other brand names retail for around double the price of this mount. When I opened it up I was suprised...the look, solid feel, and finish were better than what I expected. It mounted on my AR easily with out any issues and the finish matches up with my AR perfectly. It also gives the AR a more balanced "Military like" look over traditional rings. One thing is for sure, my other AR is getting one also. Very pleased. Excellent buy....

Saw this mounted with a Burris XTR-14 and decided that I had to try one. Currently using it in conjunction with my Bushnell Elite Rainguard Riflescope, although I DO have my eye on a particular Trijicon Accupoint. Nicely finished--hard but still scratches with enough (inadvertent) effort as I rudely discovered--and for the most part well executed in construction, although I'm personally not a fan of the use of Torx screws as fasteners (preferring instead good old fashioned hex heads). While relatively easy to use, I'm also not seeing much advantage of having six holding screws per ring; it just adds a bit more unnecessary complication to the scope setup process that four screws and strategic dabs of Loctite can easily address. Mounts easily and solidly to any flattop black rifle equipped with the appropriate Picatinny/Weaver rail. While I still need to use a separate 1/2" riser to optimize the assembly for my own eye comfort (YMMV of course), I've transferred it back and forth between my AR and M&P 15-22 plinker; certainly makes moving the Bushnell from rifle to rifle a breeze, although I don't see THAT much of an advantage over properly setup individual rings.

Still, it's not much more than a pair of individual Burris 30mm rings, and it's perfect if at some point I get totally stupid and pick up additional sighting gear to mount on top of this setup. For me, it's money reasonably spent.

does exactly what you would expect it to do. hold your scope tight on a picatinny rail. cantilever is nice if you have a good scope with a nice eye relief. only complaint is they dont make it in 20moa.

I bought this mount for my M4 after reading all the good reviews. It lived up to all the expectations. Very sturdy mount but a little on the heavy side. In my opinion better to be a little heavy than flimsy. I will be buying another for my AR

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Slick Mount, January 21, 2012

This mount was recommended by the company that sold my tactical scope purchased for a new AR rifle I am setting up for hog hunting. The mount is easy on and off and locks up tight to hold zero. This is a very good product.

This is probably the best "bang to the buck" tactical scope mount you can find out there, Why did I say that well let me try to enumerate the features that I loved on this scope mount

FIRST: you can choose from a Picatinny style top or a smooth type top mount depending on your style and preference

SECOND: 6 Torque screws that held each clamp in place. Unlike the other reviewer I do welcome more screws in my clamp for I'm not a big fan of using Loctite on my scope screws for whatever reason I find them very unreliable. I just tighten the 6 screws to an even 10lbs torque each and you know that scope ain't going nowhere no mater how much the recoil is and even if in the event that one screw do manage to loosen up the odds of your scope loosing its zero is close to 0. Now try that with a scope that just have 2 screws held on by loctite.

THIRD: the 2 nuts that held the mount to the rail is more than adequate to hold everything in place during shooting and still can be easily remove if you decide to remove your scope.

That being said I do find one cons for this products and that is it's weight. It does weigh considerably more than the simple ring type mount but knowing that this is made really for running and gunning I don't think anybody looking for a tactical scope mount would look at that as a disadvantage.

The Burris scope mount is a great, super strong mount. I have had this mount in place on my AR15 for 1 year now and have not had to do any adjustments to it. This thing is rock solid, if I had to do it again I would buy this again for sure. My next gun build will definitely include a Burris Mount again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent single unit mounting option, May 30, 2011
This review is from: AR-PEPR Scope Mount 30mm (Sports)
I have a similar 1" rock river mount (smooth top), but of course didn't do me a lot of good when I got my 1-4x24 scope (Burris tac 30) as it needed the 30mm rings so I picked up the Burris mount. I don't know if there is a lot of advantage over two seperate rings or not, but the mount works well and looks good. It does ship with both the "smooth" tops and the "rail" tops, so if you don't like the look of the rails (or if you do) your choice on how to set it up.

I do have the burris fastfire II mounted on another weapon but haven't bothered to try it on the top rings, as for me at least, the illuminated 1-4x24 works great up close and cheek welds perfectly for me, so I don't think it would be worth mounting the fastfire with that type of set-up. If you had a 3-9x40 or something similar though and were looking to transition up close, this mount does at least give you the option of putting a small dot sight there, and additional options for the same price as similar items is always a good thing.

Overall it is well made and a good choice.
