I have a ton of different sights, including an expensive Leupold Deltapoint. I got the FastFire because I thought it would be almost as good for half the price. Well, not quite. While the device shows no signs of disintegrating like some cheaper sights (its mounted on a SIG 556, so it gets a real pounding) the problem is the red dot itself. It is not easy to see. My impression is that the auto dim feature is set to too dim when used in lower light conditions like an indoor range. Read in some forums that outside in the bright sunlight no problem. I briefly had the sight mounted on a pistol. This did not work well at all since with the outstretched arm the dot was even harder to see.

With my eye sight rapidly deteriorating I was about to give up shooting my pistols in competition, but decided to try the FastFire on my 1911's. Thought the slide action would surely destroy the little sight in just a few rounds. Not so! Now I have them on all my pistols and even one on my Win 94 as a "scout mount" in the rear sight dovetail. Also one on my .22 RF. The 4 MOA dot is perfect for short to medium ranges encountered for squirrel or deer.

If your eyes are a bit older and the regular sights just don't do it, this is perfect. It is very durable and very reliable. I have mine mounted on a glock and it takes the beating and works.

This is a nice little sight, I say little because it is very small and compact/lightweight. This site is mounted to my Ruger mark 3 pistol, and fits it nicely. A huge upgrade to the stock adjustable iron sites. I shoot speed dueling targets and this thing makes it almost unfair. You can acquire and hit your target with ease, and hold a tight target group. I have not had a problem with the wind-age and elevations screws loosening as some review say, and the auto dim feature has never made the red dot to bright or dim. I thing people do not like the feature because they dont have control over the brightness. Some people claim they cant find or see the red dot. After you get use to the red dot this has not been an issue with the 4 different shooters that have used my pistol.
In fact I brought a friend that has never shot a pistol before or used a red dot nor seen one and he was able to beat 2 times with dueling targets with this sight.
Things I dont like..
The price is a little steep for what this sight is.
To change the battery it must be disassemble.
For the price it should include a mount that covers the entire sight like an eotech. Mine has already got a dent in the top ring that retains the optic and i can see me breaking this thing soon.

All this aside I am happy with this site and it has done the two things I have hoped for. Small and lightweight. Tighter groups at longer distances. I would have gave it 5 stars if it had been more affordable.

Fit and finishes are horrible. I am not sure if it can last long and withstand abuse caused by pistol.
I am returning this and hoping for better products availabe in the future.
