These babies are great. They are very robust when set up but knock down small to stow away in my pickup bed without taking too much space. I do Habitat for Humanity work so portability is a key feature.

The plywood is very high quality. There is a one inch hole through each piece to thread a carrying strap through, To make them solidyly tied together for storage, I use a set of threaded bakelite knobs (one male, one female) through the hole so I can tighten the knobs and clamp the 4 pieces into a solid slab that is easy to stow.

As a contractor I appreciate tools that are versatile and represent good value for the money spent. This knock-down sawhorse is a great example of that kind of tool. Nothing fancy here, just a strong and honest sawhorse. Could you make your own sawhorse out of scrap lumber? Of course you could, and maybe it would even handle loads like this one. Time is worth something, too, though, and at less than twenty-five bucks (as of this writing) this sawhorse costs a whole lot less than the time I'd spend and money for materials to make something equivalent.

What I like:

* Good Quality - Mind you, this is not fine furniture but the cuts are clean and the edges sanded. The plywood appears to be cabinet-grade material, clean and sanded on both sides, and about 5/8" thick. The plywood is unfinished, which I like as it gives me the option of throwing on my own finish to make them more weatherproof and last a bit longer. Fit of the pieces is tight already, though, so either don't finish the inside of the notches, or widen them enough to accommodate the thickness of your finish film.

* Stores Flat - These don't take up much room in the garage or in the back of my truck, or on the jobsite if I leave them there. Pieces knock down and go together fast. All pieces have a round hole (about 1 1/4") through which threads a wood block/nylon cord apparatus that is used for holding and carrying the set up - Nice. These holes can also be used to store the knocked-down sawhorse on a wall in your garage.

* Strong - No nails or screws or fittings here: Everything is compression-fit. It makes for a strong and stable platform for whatever you want to put on it, within its weight limitation... which should be large enough for most anyone.

* Price - Cheaper than I could do it myself, I appreciate that this inexpensive relative to its durability and expected longevity. I could very well make one of my own using Baltic birch scraps from my shop or other materials, but I'd rather spend my spare time making a doll house for my little girl.

One note about the fit: While the bottom brace fit well and easily in the notches, the top piece was tight and didn't fit all the way down. That suits me fine, as it doesn't affect it's operation and the snugness makes for wobble-free operation. I reckon over time it will fit deeper in the notch through use as the wood fibers crush and get worn. I don't see this as either a design flaw or a defect, but quick shave with a jigsaw or sandpaper would customize the fit in any case.

Good value meets solid utility, and I can recommend this if you are looking for a strong and durable sawhorse that you can use for anything and that won't put a hurt on your pocketbook.

The saw horses I received did not fit together.
They would have been unusable had I not been able to modify them so that they did fit.
The cartons had been opened before and I suppose that someone had returned them because of the fit.

Once I got them to fit they work as described.

It was easier to modify then that the hassle of returning them.
Had I bought them from a localBurro Brands AMK2 Knock Down Sawhorse, One store I would have returned them.

Amazon did a great job getting this saw horse to me very fast. The product is absolutely old school cool and it is tough as nails. I am very happy with the Burro and all my pals are envious.
