5.0 out of 5 stars A Manga to Enjoy, October 9, 2008
This review is from: Burst Angel - MANGA Volume 1 (Paperback)
Nearly after a year of waiting the Manga from Japan come to America. This Manga was short and sweet. Quick action, tender moments, humorous moments, and a hint of girl on girl. This manga takes place in the year 20XX. A desolate Tokyo ridden with crime, and chaos a little order is given by our Heroines who need money. Lots of it. The character's are Meg and Jo, for those that are unfamiliar with the series. This is their adventure trying to make ends meet all the while fighting for their next paycheck. This particular manga has alot of well drawn action scenes, and good writing.

If you enjoy chicks, and action with guns-a-blazin' you will enjoy this prequel to the actual Burst Angel Series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the Anime series!, September 27, 2008

This review is from: Burst Angel - MANGA Volume 1 (Paperback)
The three volume manga series based on the Burst Angel anime was released after the anime became a hit in Japan and had the original title of "Angels' Adolescence". The manga series is set before the anime series and includes Sei trying to recruit Jo and Meg for her band of gunslinging girls who are out to instill a little law and order in a near future lawless Tokyo. I particularly enjoyed the manga version of Meg. In the anime she does little more than get captured so hardnosed Jo can can go postal in order to save "her Meg". In the mangas, Meg is much more competent while still being very girly - she actually rescues her superhuman friend Jo, takes care of the finances, knocks off some badguys (not as well as Jo can), and constantly daydreams about "her Jo". Tender emotion, knock-down fights, killer zombies, and a hint of yuri. What's not to like?
