This Advanced Level DVD is the third of a series of Senior Fitness videos produced by DC Entertainment. In the spotlight are René Burton and It's Never Too Late, a fitness program specifically designed for anyone 55 and older. Program summary: Low-impact aerobics at a faster pace for more active seniors, which increases metabolism for toning and fat burning. More complex series of patterns for coordination. Use of resistance bands and weights for strength training, to build muscle and bone strength. Mat work for flexibility, stretching, toning, and relieving stress. Improving posture for proper body alignment. Cool down included at the end of each program, stretching and breathing to relax.
About the Actor
Rene Burton studied at the Martha Graham Dance Studio and at the New Dance Group Studio in New York City. She has been teaching fitness for over 25 years, 15 of which have been devoted to working with and teaching seniors and baby boomers. She is adjunct faculty in the Emeritus-sponsored programs at Irvine Valley College, Coastline Community College and the Huntington Beach Adult School. She has an Adult Education teaching credential for Adaptive Physical Education, Physical Fitness and Conditioning. She studied exercise physiology at California State University Fullerton. Rene Burton was appointed as a Fifty-Plus Lifelong Fitness Ambassador in 2003. The following year, she earned a Certificate of Achievement at the Fitness Ambassador Training and Workshop from Stanford University. She has given lectures and workshops at Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Medical Group of Anaheim. Rene Burton has transformed her passion into It's Never Too Late. The program is designed to empower seniors to reach their potential regardless of age or infirmity. Its goal is to show every senior, and even the younger generation, why it is never too late!
