An acquired taste...
I received this as a gift, and though banana really isn't my cup of tea, I really do like this stuff! It does take a bit of getting used to (try using it for two or three days), but after a while, the scent really does grow on you. But mroe importantly, IT WORKS! I use this stuff religiously, especially in winter when my hands become dry and chapped. SO...just...

Smells great in the jar, nasty on you.
This stuff smells good enough to eat, but once one applies it to the skin it starts smelling strange, and then unpleasant. It's not just me, friends have had the same experience.

Banana Hand Creme, September 29, 2005
This review is from: Burt's Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Creme, 2 oz (Health and Beauty)
As long as you like the smell of bananas this stuff is great. The smell does fade pretty quickly. You can smell a little bit of beeswax after the banana fades but not unless I put my nose up to my hand and take a sniff. The beeswax is a pretty neutral smell and not something I ever notice. As far as how it works, It is great. I do a lot of work outside in the yard and in the house cleaning. My hands would get rough and I would get really bad hangnails. Since I started using this they are really soft and the hang nails are gone. It has great lasting power and you only need to use a little bit. My mother in law used some of mine one day and asked if I could get her some. It's very thick and creamy. It works really well on elbows too. If you don't like bananas, I've seen an almond version of this product as well.
