5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT lip Balm! And, if you're inventive...
...and attentive, you'll notice that you get twice as much in the tin as you do the tube version, for the same price. I buy a few of the Burt's Bees lip balm tubes and, when they're empty, I put my candlemaking skills to use with the tins of Burt's Bees lip balm that I've bought:

Get a pair of visegrips, and adjust them so that they snugly hold the tin...

1.0 out of 5 stars Honestly? Worst Lip Balm I Have Ever Tried.
Now I know that there are about a trillion 5-star reviews of this product on Amazon, and I'm likely to get hate mail after posting this, but I just have to say: I truly hate Burt's Bees Lip Balm.
After hearing several of my friends rave about their tubes of Burt's Bees lip balm (best stuff on the planet, heals their lips in a nanosecond, etc.), I finally went out...

...and attentive, you'll notice that you get twice as much in the tin as you do the tube version, for the same price. I buy a few of the Burt's Bees lip balm tubes and, when they're empty, I put my candlemaking skills to use with the tins of Burt's Bees lip balm that I've bought:

Get a pair of visegrips, and adjust them so that they snugly hold the tin. You'll want to squeeze the tin lightly to make a tiny v-shaped pouring spout for refilling the tubes. I heat up one of my electric burners over low heat, place the tin on it until the wax begins to melt, then I carefully place the visegrips around the tin to hold it for pouring over the empty tubes (try not to touch the hot tin to the plastic tube, unless you want a jagged edge to your tube. I know I don't). Even if you have steady hands, like I do, you'll still end up spilling a few drops of the melted balm, but once you've refilled the tubes, recapped them, and let them sit to cool, those old tubes will be as good as new!

You get two for the price of one with these tins and a few empty balm tubes, with no quality loss. And, if you're thinking of melting these over a candle, don't do it - I've tried that, and if you don't mind getting ash into your balm, go right ahead. Otherwise, the smoke will collect on the bottom of the tin, and simply discolor your fabulous Burt's Bees balm. And nobody wants that!

5.0 out of 5 stars Burt makes me feel all tingly!, September 29, 2005

I have a wicked problem with dry lips. My bottom lip will actually crack down the center and bleed with lip balm on it. It really hurts too. This was a regular problem until I picked up a little tin of this stuff. It healed the cracks I had and I haven't had the problem since. It does an amazing job at moisturizing without feeling heavy or gunky on my lips. It has peppermint oil in it that makes your lips tingly (but not overdone) and the little tin fits better than a tube in my jeans pocket. Despite the tingling there's not much of a taste to it and it doesn't make your lips all glossy when you don't want them to be (which means my husband will use it too.)It cost a tad bit more than some traditional drug store lip balms but it goes a long way and you are getting what you pay for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addicted, October 21, 2005
I am addicted to this product. Something about that cool, minty feeling on my lips just gets me going. I love the tin packaging, but the tube is nice too.

1.0 out of 5 stars Honestly? Worst Lip Balm I Have Ever Tried., January 6, 2010
This review is from: Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin (Health and Beauty)
Now I know that there are about a trillion 5-star reviews of this product on Amazon, and I'm likely to get hate mail after posting this, but I just have to say: I truly hate Burt's Bees Lip Balm.
After hearing several of my friends rave about their tubes of Burt's Bees lip balm (best stuff on the planet, heals their lips in a nanosecond, etc.), I finally went out and purchased two tubes: the original and the pomegranate. First, the pomegranate is the most hideous-tasting thing I've ever put on my lips. Nevermind any of it's other negative qualities. I used it maybe twice before throwing it away.
The original Burt's Bees lip balm, the one that women swear on as if it's the Holy Bible, was even less impressive. The texture felt like I was rubbing a candle on my lips, and it tasted pretty much like a peppermint candle, too. The worst part was the overwhelming minty tingle (which I supposed some people equate with "healing"?) was quite uncomfortable. Menthol is an irritant, folks! If I'm looking for a comforting lip balm, I don't think this is it.
I think I will stick to my old standby combo of Softlips or Blistex Deep Renewal, thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Minty, July 1, 2005
This stuff beats the crap out of Rosebud Salve, even though the latter gets amazing reviews, said to be the celebrities' choice. They don't know what they're missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peppermint Lip Balm, January 25, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After years of trying numerous other brands, I found this lip product and fell madly in love. First, it tingles because it contains peppermint so it makes your lips feel alive and luscious. Then, it has beeswax and coconut oil to protect you from the elements.

Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm contains soothing and refreshing ingredients, such as beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower oil, tocopheryl acetate & tocopherol (vitamin E), lanolin, peppermint oil, comfrey root extract, and rosemary extract.

There are many other uses for this product. You can also use it on dry skin that needs extra attention. It also seems to work as a healing balm.

I have one tube in every main room of my house. One hidden in a kitchen drawer, one in my desk, two in my purse, etc. My husband also loves this lip balm.

I keep the tin of lip balm in my medicine chest because
I find it works well as a healing balm. I love the look
of the tin and it works well to keep in pockets. If
it goes through the wash, the lid doesn't come off.

If you love beeswax lip balms, also look for Honeybee Garden
Strawberry Champagne. It is delicious!
