I love this lip balm - except for the clove smell....but I will keep using it because it keeps my lips from peeling and cracking, which I have had a problem with all my life. It feels good on

Tinted cap is a little misleading, but a pretty good product.,

I bought this in a variety pack for my husband for christmas. I didn't exactly read the package and figured that it was slightly tinted so I took it for myself and put the other three in his stocking. I opened it up and saw what I expected -- tinted pink lip balm -- so I used it for a few weeks in place of lipstick since lipstick dries my lips out so bad. Well, my lips felt great, but I finally noticed that there was absolutly no tint to the balm when it's actually on your lips.
As far as the scent goes, I prefer it to the honey balm. The honey balm does better for healing your lips, but this one has a much more plesant scent to me.

Good Lip Balm,

Good Lip Balm but I prefer the Burt's Bees honey lip balm. The Medicated w/clove oil smell is kinda strong, not real appealing.

I had a hard time finding the medicated version of this lip balm around town, so I of course turned to Amazon. My one problem with this particular product is the very intense clove smell. Since it sits on my lips, almost in direct contact with the nose, I felt overwhelmed with the smell and don't think I can use this on a regular basis. Yes, I actually think it smells worse than Carmex.

I guess I'm at an advantage of loving the smell of cloves, but this is the ONLY lip balm I'll ever use. I generally have 5 in circulation at all times. Desk, bedroom, purse, diaper bag, work. To me, these are next to gold! They work so very well, feel great, and yes, I LOVE the smell. The original isn't bad, but these are the best!

I guess I'm in the minority here among reviewers, because I love the smell of cloves. It is very strong, as others have noted, so it's definitely not for everyone.
This lip balm works really well at keeping my lips soft and moisturized, better for me than the original Burt's Bees balm (which my husband loves and prefers over this.) I keep one at my desk and one in my purse so it's always available. |
