We love this stuff. We've been using it as a preventative to diaper rash for about a month now. It's worth every penny because you just use a tap. I've used about 1/3 of the jar in one month's time. My baby had been battling the worst diaper rash and we were using a 40% zinc cream, calamine, blow dryers, etc to treat it. We finally got it under control and started using this as a preventative instead of a zinc oxide or petroleum product because they were ruining my cloth diapers.

Why I love it?
-It smells great
-It COMPLETELY keeps away diaper rash
-It doesn't stain my cloth diapers and washes right out (unlike zinc which will stain and petro products that are hard to wash out)
-It can go on everything and I use it on me all the time. Dry ankles, eczema, razor burn- whatever. I use it for more than baby butt.
-It absorbs and protects and doesn't create a mess if/when it gets on stuff like clothes and changing tables.
-I can read the label and recognize all the words in the ingredients.

LOVE IT.

As far as the allergens in the previous "review", it's true. However, the product doesn't claim to be hypoallergenic. Just 100% natural. If your kid has allergies, I'm sure you're reading labels. It's too bad someone reviewed this product without even using it first.

Wow, this stuff worked pretty fast, literally overnight.

My son has eczema which is exacerbated by heat & drool. It's especially bad on the front of his ankles where it gets a little inflamed & scabby. He also scratches at it if I don't put vaseline or oatmeal based creams on it. On his lower cheeks, chin, jaw and neck it gets pretty bad because of all the drool. Of course I do my best to keep it dry, and I put a vaseline barrier as often as I can, but it's often pretty red and splotchy. Especially when the heat & humidity hit (we're in Hawai`i).

As the doctor and other moms have recommended, I use a vaseline or aquaphor barrier, and twice a day I'd apply Babyganics "Bye bye dry" eczema care cream, and if it was bad enough hydrocortisone cream/ointment or desitin. These things all worked a bit, sometimes his skin would look almost normal, but it wasn't 100%, and there were too many occurrences of rash or scabbing. More recently eczema patches have been popping up around other areas on his body, so I really felt like I wanted to try something new.

I decided to give this a try and I'm really glad I did. It came in yesterday and I applied it before bedtime after making sure I cleaned and dried all the affected areas first (particularly his face/neck because of the drool). This morning I checked him out and no kidding, his skin is clear. There's still evidence that he had something wrong with his skin, as the pigmentation is a little lighter, but all the redness & inflammation is gone, and besides a few tiny scabs on his ankles, they are also clear.

I really wish I had taken before & after photos, but it's too late for that now, and I'm not about to let his rash come back just for that purpose, so I'm hoping this review is enough to encourage other mom's out there to give it a try.

Well, Burt's Bees makes good stuff (I enjoy their lip balm, hand lotion, and this... never tried the other stuff). This diaper ointment is basically amazing. My wife and I use cloth diapers, but we do 1 disposable a day (at night time... you never know if she will leave a big one... which is not usually a problem in cloth except that it leaves her bottom wetter than a disposable, so it fosters rashes more. Actually a bonus of cloth diapers (during the day) because it facilitates potty training, if you ask me). Anyhow, about two "quarter" sized dabs of this on her diaper area completely cures diaper rash in ONE night (unless it's horrible, but even then it really clears it up). It is NOT compatible with cloth diapers (for some reason). Using it in this manner, one bottle (of this size) lasts me ONE YEAR. Not a bad value at all. Did I mention that it's awesome to support made in USA and all natural ingredients like coconut oil? Because it is. Petroleum is great in your car (and tires, etc), but not so much in your body.

Unfortunately, I cannot say this product is made by a family owned company anymore (It was bought by Clorox in 2008), so beware of: changing ingredients without any notice, profits going to the same greedy, corrupt, and careless companies, etc (at least as reported by others). So as always: who is behind the scenes, what is their motivation, how is this being co-opted, things aren't always as they seem, etc. But yes, it still works great & has a great bang for your buck (at least in my experience). For my part though, I am looking for something that works the same but is made by a family business. That's just my thing! (For so many reasons). Once a product is sold in WalMart, that usually is a sign that it has been bought by a large corporation.

... and it's cheaper too (at a Box Store, that is).

I don't know how long this product has been on the market as my local Babies R Us and Targets just got this in recently. I had been using Babyganics Ointments on my 14 mo old from birth to 12 months. I loved this stuff! It was the only thing I could find in stores that didn't have a laundry list of chemicals and questionable substances. Johnson & Johnson had made the news yet ago just before her birth and that's when I decided to go as natural as I could. I thought it worked quite well and used it with every diaper change and extra for her overnight diapers when she began sleeping through. She only ever had a diaper rash (small, smaller than a quarter in size) once she started solids foods/fruits. We preferred the stuff in jars as it was more pliable and less "clumpy" compared to the travel tubes. However, once I learned about Honest Co, I switched to their variety.

Honest Co's ointment is really nice, the price not so much. It literally melts on contact with skin and goes on quite silky. It has far fewer ingredients compared to Babyganics and did a far better job with the small "teething" diaper rashes she got with her molars. I ordered directly from Honest Co as it's cheaper there compared to amazon. When I ordered that allowed you to create a "bundle" of 5-8 products, as many of each as you chose for $36. Now they limit it to only 2 Ointments per Bundle, per month. Apparently they were catching on that the Ointment was really one of the few things worth the price. I tried several other products of theirs only to donate them (Stain remover, all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner).
