5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing product!!!
I absolutely love the pore-refining mask. For this mask, you mix the green clay powder with water and apply to the face, avoiding the eye area. It's green like many spa masks, feels very cool when applied, and eventually hardens (and I mean very hard - my husband teases me because it's difficult to talk!). When finished, I always blot my face with a warm cloth before...

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I'm applying it wrong
I have huge pores on my T-Zone. So large when I apply powder you see white dots on my face :(
I've tried everything and nothing seems to make it better. Not even this which I was hoping would be a miracle for me like many others.

When I apply it I can see 'pits'. Where the pores are largest there's even more! It's not a pleasant sight so I hide out...

When finished, I always blot my face with a warm cloth before removing it - it makes it much easier to remove. Afterwards, you may experience some redness, but it will go away within a few minutes. The redness is caused because this mask increases circulation. This mask not only tightens your pores, it also helps keep your skin clear and oil-free. It's great for all skin types, although sensitive skin (such as my skin) might experience more redness and possibly itchiness, but it goes away as soon as you apply a moisturizer. BUY THIS - It's wonderful!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The only Burt's Bees facial product that I can use, January 3, 2008
This review is from: Burt's Bees Pore Refining Mask with French Green Clay, 1-Ounce Jar (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I'm no cosmetic expert. In fact I have absolutely zero interest in cosmetics (and don't even wear them) so you know I'm not someone who buys beauty products for fun and for the novelty of it. But I live in the desert where the dry air desiccates your skin so I sometimes have to pick up product for skin care. I got attracted to the Burt's Bees products via their cute and creative in-store displays and then ending up trying a wide range of their products.

I have an additional problem when it comes to beauty products: while the skin on my body gets totally dry, my face is always oily and prone to break-outs. So I have to avoid virtually all of the Burt's Bees facial products because they're based on beeswax and this clogs my pores big-time, even if I scrub my face with bar soap to avoid all possible wax-residue.

But this clay mask is another story altogether. You mix the green clay-powder with a little water to turn it into mud. Then pat it on and go read a book or something for about 20 minutes. The mask will harden on your face, and then you can wash it off. Good points: the clay doesn't stain your hands or clothes nor does it strip too much moisture out of your face once you've washed it off. Of course since there's no beeswax in this product, it leaves no waxy residue. My skin typically feels soft and clean when I've used it. Enjoyable product and highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Miracle for less than $10?, July 9, 2008

I bought this product because I'm 30 years old and now apparently have GINORMOUS pores. I've spent a lot of money on creams, moisturizers and masks to help my skin condition, but haven't seen great results. I was extremely disappointed today as I looked in the mirror and noticed not only my huge pores, but that I also had a few bumps (I don't know what else to call them) on one of my cheeks. That just drove me nuts! I had bought this mask a few weeks ago, but hadn't opened the box. I was hoping to at least tighten my pores with this product and, surprisingly, I saw instant results! But even more surprising and uplifting was that my little bumps disappeared too! This is my new best friend.

I like how you can substitute your own liquid ingredient such as water, juice (carrot/tomato) or even green tea to tailor the mask to your needs. This product leaves your skin so smooth and it really is like having a luxurious spa treatment in your very own bedroom. I'm quite disappointed to read that Clorox bought the company, though I appreciate this information because it will definitely influence future purchases.

I've tried everything and nothing seems to make it better. Not even this which I was hoping would be a miracle for me like many others.

When I apply it I can see 'pits'. Where the pores are largest there's even more! It's not a pleasant sight so I hide out in the washroom while it's on.

The skin gets really tight and you can see where it dried the skin tugging. It's a bit alarming. I wonder if it's bad for those with more mature skin to use.

I think my skin is a bit sensitive as it does get a little itchy.

Upon removal my pores are still there and still very large and noticeable :(
My skin is definitely less oily though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good mask, April 30, 2009
This review is from: Burt's Bees Pore Refining Mask with French Green Clay, 1-Ounce Jar (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I'm not exactly a fan of how liquid-y this mask is, or the fact that it makes my face red after using.
Even if I add much more powder than water, it is still about the consistency of water.
However, this does make the mask easier to spread.
The smell is absolutely intoxicating, and it really does feel like my face is getting a good treatment with the pleasing tingle.
Burt's Bees mask is full of ingredients perfect for oily skin; like French green clay, peppermint, rosemary, and sage.
It's been great for my blackheads. They've minimized slightly with just a couple uses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chamomile Infused, March 7, 2008
By
This review is from: Burt's Bees Pore Refining Mask with French Green Clay, 1-Ounce Jar (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
"The Greeks called this ancient herb 'Ground Apple' because of its sweet, fruity fragrance. A member of the daisy family, chamomile provides soothing and gentle relief from skin inflammations and rashes and is known to stimulate regeneration of skin tissues. Its sedative qualities have been used for centuries as an antidote for sleeplessness and nightmares, and one old herbal prescribes it for 'hysterical and nervous affections in women."

An excellent product.
