4.0 out of 5 stars Great "natural" alternative
I came across this bar during my search for a sodium lauryl sulfate free shampoo--it was in a trial size pack. There's some learning curve involved--be sure to rub the bar on your head *while* the water is running over your hair--but it leaves my hair squeaky clean and soft and I liked the environmentally-sound packaging and company ethic.

Only four stars, though,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Travels well - leaves weird texture
I used this hair soap while traveling last summer. It's nice and minty, does a good job of cleaning your hair, and is a lot easier to travel with than a bottle of shampoo. The reason for my three star review is that it leaves my hair with a kind of weird, stiff texture - not altogether bad, just very different from normal shampoo. I now intersperse use of this product...

Only four stars, though, because I haven't used it long-term yet, but like it so far!

4.0 out of 5 stars good, but not the best rosemary shampoo bar, April 30, 2007
This review is from: Burt's Bees - Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar (Disc), One 3.5 Oz Bar (Health and Beauty)
I liked the Burts Bees rosemary-mint shampoo bar quite a bit. Its pleasant mild scent doesn't bother my perfume allergies. But then I tried the rosemary shampoo bar made by Just Soap-The Pedal-Powered Natural Soap, and I immediately switched because it's got a more luxurious lather and costs much less. I've been using the Just Soap rosemary shampoo bar for about a year now and won't go back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonder-bar, January 19, 2004
I recently received the Burt's Bees gift pack this Christmas that included the shampoo bar and lots of other goodies. I have the thickest, kinky curly hair you can imagine. I have spent hundred of dollars trying to keep it manageable and friz-free. Imagine my shock when I used a bar of soap and found my hair easy to comb. I have been combining this shampoo bar with the Avacodo Conditioning gel and found that not only is my hair easy to comb and free of frizzies, but I do not have to use all those harsh gels and products to keep it that way. Thanks to Burt's Bees products, I have healthy, happy, environmentally happy hair.

I should also mention that I have switched all my make-up and skin care products to this company and couldn't be happier. Thank you Burt and your Bees.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best for short hair, October 21, 2008
By
This review is from: Burt's Bees - Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar (Disc), One 3.5 Oz Bar (Health and Beauty)
A little goes a long way with this shampoo bar. I have short hair and I think liquid shampoo is wasteful. With this bar you wet it, lather your head a bit and put the bar aside. It lasts a long time as long as you put it in a holder where it can dry. No more shampoo bottles in the shower and the wasted packaging.

It smells good but the perfume is not strong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rosemarymint Shampoo Bar, February 25, 2011
This review is from: Burt's Bees - Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar (Disc), One 3.5 Oz Bar (Health and Beauty)
I love this product I wash my hair and it feels soft and clean. I even wash my shoulders where there is pain, I have fibromyalgia and if feels good. The Rosemarymint goes thru the skin and it is soothing to the mucsels. I wish they would make more of this product and keep it in stock. Please bring it back.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wowwwww, December 27, 2005

Scyla "Gretchen" (Missouri City, Texas, USA) - See all my reviews
I love Burt's Bees products, especially the lip balm, but this one came as a surprise. I had purchased a starter pack before and tried the shampoo and disliked it because of the waxy feeling it leaves on your hair after you use it.
However, recently I got another starter pack and decided to try it again on my hair. About a month ago I used semipermanent dye to die my hair black, and hated it. I shampooed it over and over only to read online later that that dye won't come out. However, after using the mint shampoo it seems to have FINALLY stripped some of that color out!! I was a amazed, nothing else I'd used had worked at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Effective I can skip a day, December 20, 2004
I like this very much. I use it about once or twice a week to keep my other shampoo working well. It has a REALLY THICK lather and I love the mint smell. You do however HAVE TO use a conditioner with this, because it does strip your hair it feels like. When I use this product I can usually skip a day on the hair washing!

1.0 out of 5 stars Off Aroma, February 22, 2004
By A Customer
I am impressed with Burt's Bees and highly enjoy several of their products but this is not one of them. The smell of this shampoo/soap was offensive and turned my stomach slightly. It has an odd sort of mint/medicinal odor.
