iXnay petroleum!,

This review is from: Burts Beeswax Lip Balm - 0.15 oz (Health and Beauty)
This lip balm does not contain any petroleum products. It is safe enough to eat. I'd actually prefer it without the mint -- but it does the job without feeling greasy. It really moisturizers your lips, even if your lips are severly chapped.
The company hires the handicapped and is very environmentally responsible. They support local charities and help in the community (donating products to homeless shelters). There are frequent stories in the local newspaper about their operation. If you like supporting a good company, this would be one.

The Beeswax lip balm is probably the most famous and well know product that people come across from this brand. I have been a happy user of this light and tingly healer combating anything from dryness to chapped lips or as a great primer for lipstick or gloss for many years now and I am delighted to see it doing so well. I usually buy the tube version, because sometimes when my hands aren't spotless I don't like to dip my finger into a tin of balm that is meant to go on my mouth. I'm one of those people who are picky about good quality products and I shop for lip balm every time I see something catch my eye. Having tired so many through out the last few years I find that some are way more memorable than others and this one is exactly that.
Ingredients in the tube formula are Beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower oil, tocopheryl acetate & tocopheryl, lanolin, peppermint oil, comfrey root extract and rosemary extract creating a tingling and ice like sensation. It's great relief for hot summer days or chilly winter nights and I wear it all day long. For those who prefer a sweeter and not minty version I recommend the Honey Beesewax balm, that tastes like brown sugar, caramel and gooey golden honey. - Kasia S.

Shipping prices ruin it.,
This review is from: Burts Beeswax Lip Balm - 0.15 oz (Health and Beauty)
While this product is one of the best I've ever used, buying it from Mind Body Source isn't worth it at all. Yes, the tube itself is only 49 cents, but shipping and handling for one is over 4 dollars! That's over 8 times the price for the actualy product, folks. Not worth it at all.

I love Burt's Bee's products...but not this one.,

This review is from: Burts Beeswax Lip Balm - 0.15 oz (Health and Beauty)
The Burt's Bees Lip Balm Beeswax Tube is a product I fully expected to love, just like the plethora of other Burt's Bee's products I've tried...but I didn't. First the scent: like wax. I know it's a natural product, but perhaps in this case nature and I don't agree? Second, the balm doesn't go on smoothly. It doesn't seem to matter if I have it warmed up or not, I get clumps instead of a coating.
On the positive side it is a natural product. Since there are other natural products...even by Burt's out there...I will be using those instead.

I buy six of these at a time for my husband and I. The beeswax lip balm feels great, works well and even tastes great. No petroleum on my lips, thanks!

Peeling - Ouch!,
By j-bird (Oceanside, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Burts Beeswax Lip Balm - 0.15 oz (Health and Beauty)
I've always loved Burt's Bees products. This lip balm, however, ALWAYS causes my lips to peel. It feels so good when I apply it and I love the refreshing smell. Within a few hours, though, my lips begin to get dry patches which end up flaking and peeling, almost as if they are burned. I suspect that it may be the peppermint oil.
Good old-fashioned (black label) Chapstik is now my lips' best friend. |
