5.0 out of 5 stars I found it excellent!
Many thanks to John Two-Hawks, who was able to beautifully blend the Native American flute into the many scores that are on the CD. This CD is, after all, a sountrack and not a compilation of Native American style music.

I listened to the CD and re-watched the DVD of the same title, scene by scene. Although not entirely accurate to the movie, I was well...

1.0 out of 5 stars Has NO native music on it
For anyone who has seen the movie, and wants to get this soundtrack in order to get the native songs heard throughout the film, DON'T!!
This is a THEME soundtrack. It contains only orchestral music with very muted native undertones here and there. NONE of the authentic native music heard in the film is present.
I really loved the song at the end of the film...

I listened to the CD and re-watched the DVD of the same title, scene by scene. Although not entirely accurate to the movie, I was well pleased with the orchestration and the assimulation of Native American style instruments. Understanding the events leading up to Wounded Knee, as depicted in the movie, I feel that the music captured the spirit of the scenes. I think that R. Carlos Nakia would be pleased, and I think that you will as well.

I really loved the song at the end of the film and that's why I bought the soundtrack, but even it is not on this CD.
If you want your run of the mill orchestra drivel, with a few native voices interwoven with over the top orchestral arrangements then you'll like this. If; however, you want a CD that reflects the native american theme, and it's native music then don't buy this.
I bought 2 not knowing what awaits me, and I basically just wasted good money.
