I am the typical user advised not to buy this camera. I, up to now, only took photos in Automatic but wanted to learn and become more of a photographer. Almost immediately after buying the camera set off with my wife on a lengthy trip to Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. We took a very high number of pictures and mainly due to shooting through moving Bus and Helicopter windows ended up deleting almost 30%. The quality of the remaining pictures ran from outstanding to passable. At the time this book wasn't available but when pre-order was possible I did and am over joyed with what I found. Within a few pages capabilities were made available to me I didn't know existed. The explanations along with camera in hand were easy to follow and I know I will now be able to put the camera to much better use than was possible before. I know a one time read is not enough but I am persistant and will take this to a whole new level thanks to continued use of this book. I highly recommend it and believe just about anyone would find it of value. I know there will be those who will say all this information is available in the manual supplied with the camera but then I would believe they hadn't read the book from start to finish.

This goes into much greater detail than the manual that came with the camera and gives real world examples of how the settings can be used. I've learned a lot from what I've read and I highly recommend this book. If you use nothing more than the original owners manual for your Sony, I don't think you'll ever be able to use it to its full potential.

I have new Sony A65. Downloaded owner's manual and read cover to cover. 10 days later i got Daviod Bushes book on same. I have been carrying it around for two weeks, i read it cover to cover also. Difference is now i know everything works instead of just the names of the buttons. The resulting pictures are amazing. Thanks David.

David's book on the Sony Alpha 65 is an excellent resource for owners of this camera. It tells not only what all the features are and how to use them, but also gives you a wonderful understanding of how they work and what they actually do.

O.K. maybe it's overkill. I bought the Kindle version for my iPod so that I have when I'm out shooting and don't want to carry a big book. However, the book version is really easy to navigate and find what you want immediately. My wife, whose a camera novice, will find the book helpful as she learns to use a SLR, let alone one with the features of my A65. As intuitive as the camera is, I really recommend the book.

Money to purchase this book was well-spent. The author employs numerous photos and clear, concise writing to assist the new alpha 65 owner in taking advantage of the many features of this fine camera. Its an up-to-date book as well, with good commentary on the latest in connectivity to other devices, along with current technology in storage media. I've been using 35mm and medium format film cameras since 1960 (and still do) but have made the jump to digital via the alpha 65 and David Busch has made me happy with my camera-purchase decision by showing me how to use my new Sony to the max. He knows this camera well and is able to pass his knowledge along to novice and serious amateur alike through a logical progression of chapter material and a "friendly mentor" approach to his instruction and advice. I also bought the field manual and its proven invaluable as well. Buy this book--you won't be sorry.

As usual David Busch's thorough covering of the camera is awesome. Just enough technology changes from camera to camera that his books are so very helpful for getting through them. Easy enough for the beginner and in depth enough for the more experienced. His books should be bought along side of the camera you are buying. Forget the silly little manual! ;).

You won't regret for having this great book as you primary photography reference. I ordered this book when it's first pre-released with relatively low price compared to other vendors out there and this definitely didn't dissapoint me at all. Since I'm still a newbie into digital photography, I'm so glad to have purchased this great book from Amazon.com and now it has become my primary guide for my lifetime digital reference guide of all time.

I have never bought a camera that came with a decent manual. The A65 is no exception. This book however, filled in the gaps and then some. Not only does the author go through the camera in great detail, but he documents common photography concepts and how they relate to the camera's usage and setup. The book is full of images that are extremely helpful.
