I'm very happy with this file. We purchased it along with other matching Bush pieces to furnish our home office. It was not too hard to put together, all pieces were there, and it is very sturdy.

Let me state that I am not "a Handy Man" therefore I preface with that comment.

If in fact that you purchase this product you will be totally amazed how beautiful that it acutally is. I have actually had two people guess the price tag, one at $400.00 another at $500.00. The Birmingham turns out to be very ELEGANT looking peice of furnature and appears that it will remain as sturdy as it now stands, which is completely loaded with files. As a matter of fact when I got it completely assembled looked at it, I have been "toying with the idea of purchasing another to utilize as a dresser. YES people it is that nice.

I prefaced this with I am not a handy man. If in fact that YOU also purchase this product, I strongly suggest that you "take your time". And if by chance something doesn't make sense or fit the way you think it should PLEASE !!!! call customer support. I had to call upon them 3 times. And each and every time these ladies that assisted me in correcting my problem along the way was FAR BEYOND courteous !!! They took their time with me. The conversation went somewhat like this. ME: That part isn't there. Cust.Serv. : Yes it is look under there. ME: I did that, it's not there Cust Serv. : Turn it around and look under there. ME: There IT IS, how could I be so dumb? Cust.Serv: Well, this is your 1st unit Please don't worry, we are here to assist you.

If you ever had past Customer Service where you were "less than satisfied" I know that feeling as well. But let me state that Bush Furniture is THE FINEST SERVICE that you will ever encounter !!! Regargless of how foolish you think your question is, they are here to assist you until the product is completely assembled PROPERLY !!! Bush Furniture is Not 5 star...it is in a catagory of Beyond 10 star !!!

Item appeared to be real wood in advertisment, I failed to see where it said it was paticle board. Pieces did conenct well and it does appeare to be sterdy after it was constructed. However,drawers don't close properly without help from me, and would get stuck open using the drawer safty device* (* allows you to only open one drawer at a time so the cabinet wont topple over); this device had to be removed for the drawers to close at all. As a result, this is just an average piece of particle board furniture and not the quality real wood piece I wanted.
