5.0 out of 5 stars Large box & strong smell of new paint.
I actually picked this up online for $321 shipped to a local Wal Mart. Besides the usual (very heavy, nice and sturdy, good quality, long assembly time), I'll add something new: Have a pickup truck with you if you have to transport it! I was hoping I could get it in my Accord. After 20 minutes and with the help of 3 people, I was able to get the whole thing in my car...

looks good and holds the 50 inch tv,but the quality is not as good as sauder products(they had nothing in a similar style).assembly directions are poor, just a series of pictures.some steps were purely trial and error on my part as the pictures were lacking explanations.some of the parts were also of poor quality and needed replacement when they broke.unit made in china...

I actually picked this up online for $321 shipped to a local Wal Mart. Besides the usual (very heavy, nice and sturdy, good quality, long assembly time), I'll add something new: Have a pickup truck with you if you have to transport it! I was hoping I could get it in my Accord. After 20 minutes and with the help of 3 people, I was able to get the whole thing in my car. We had to open up the box in the parking lot and put it in piece by piece. The box is 28"x63"x8" and weighs enough to need 2 strong, or 3 people to lift it. I also had to air out my house overnight because the smell of the fresh new paint on all the pieces was extrememly strong. I also had to drive home with my car windows down because the smell was unsafe for freeway driving. I have not assembled the unit yet, but I've put together Bush furniture before and I was very pleased with the assembly quality. Based on other reviews, I expect this one to be no different, and because of the price I got this for, I give it 5 stars!

3.0 out of 5 stars It serves it's purpose, November 1, 2008
This TV stand arrived about 2 weeks after I ordered it and I began to assemble it. It took about 6 hours by myself - you have to assemble EVERYTHING. It came with everything except some dowels needed for assembly, so I went out to a local hardware store and bought some instead of waiting to call the company and have them shipped out. That was my main problem with the unit. Assembly was fairly easy and everything fit together nice.

The Quality is decent but I expected more. The smell is strong but hopefully that will go away soon. Some of the wood had small chips and imperfections in the paint, but it is barely noticeable once put together. It is very heavy and sturdy enough to hold my old 32" projection tv without a problem. Overall I am satisfied but would probably go with another manufacturer next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very sturdy and good quality, January 14, 2012

I own the same design, but different finish for 5 years. The assembly took full 3 hours, but it was not hard. It just has many pieces to assemble.

The unit survived a moving with, just a couple of loose fasteners which I tightened with screwdriver. I am surprised such a heavy RTA furniture survived moving.

One thing to note is the depth of the unit. Because this furniture was initially design when DLP and LCD projection TVs were mainstream(it is when I purchased), the depth was set for such thick TVs. However, it is not bad for flat panel, which I now placed on the stand.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! Modern and Classy!, December 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It looks great, very modern and classy. It wasn't too difficult to put together. The paint smell is really strong and it took about week or so before it was finally gone. It is sturdy and heavy, which is a good thing. We absolutely LOVE it and very happy with this purchase!

3.0 out of 5 stars Is Sturdy but Easily Nicked and Paint Scratched, May 30, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It took quite awhile to put together but that is just how it is with these sort of things so that isn't really a negative with this set. Also it looks nice but one thing is it will nick easily so basically be super human careful when touching any of the fake wood. The cheap paint also scratches easily so find a place for your items and never drag them. All and all it is a solid good looking unit!

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks Great and holds all my components, February 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bush Furniture Riverwood TV Stand (Kitchen)
This was delivered to my house in a book that looked it was dragged here. Each and every piece inside the box was wrapped and packe great nothing was really damaged but the finish was very inconsistant. I called Bush for replacement panels for the ones I deemed unacceptable. Thry did not want the panels back and shipped the new ones out. I received them two days later and 50% were ok. Bush was called a second time and they great about making sure I was happy. Finally all the pieces were acceptable, it went together without a hitch but it does take a little while, though not complicated. The whole thing together does weigh a ton, which does make it feel like furniture and that it won't fall apart or collapse under the weight. This thing holds everything, I have a PS3, cable box, 2x 400-disc cd changers, dvd player, receiver, and vcr in this cabinet with a 46" lcd tv on top. It looks awesome.

3.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this product * Poor assembly manual, good phone support., December 25, 2008

Product finish is disappointing, poor stain job. Minor damage to one corner and not worth the hassle of a return.

Instruction manual very lacking. Call Bush support if you are not sure.

The drawer assembly is tricky. You have to apply a lot of force to get the assembled drawer back in the tracks.

The assembly method, Stud and Cam, does not work well. If you have problems with the cam locking on the stud, I would recommend backing the stud out one or two turns so the cam can lock onto it. I broke four cams trying to screw them in, Bush is replacing.

Product label on top is glued on and difficult to remove.

I would recommend felt pads for the bottom if you have hardwood floors.

Overall the look is ok. Just want it to support my 138 lb phasma.

Follow up:

The cams that secure to the studs/bolts break easy. Bush sent me replacements but two of those have broke. appears to be a fault in the stud length or the holes that are pre drilled are wrong. Phone support says the studs need to be in all the way??? She obviously has never put one these together.

Change my star rating to a "One Star" only because there is no ZERO

4.0 out of 5 stars Fine looking when finished, December 22, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a fine TV stand. One of the harder things I've had to put together but it came up reasonably well. I'd recommend having more glue on hand than is included. I ran out toward the end. It holds my 56" Samsung DLP just fine and I think it could do a 60-65 probably with no problem. Cable string out nicely from the back and the doors are a nice touch. You can barely see them in the Amazon picture but it really adds something to this piece.

2.0 out of 5 stars Low quality not low enugh price, August 14, 2008
We bought this item after a lot of research to find the "perfect" TV stand. We bought this one because of the look, price & depth (we have a deep receiver). It is all particle board (didn't realize that when we ordered it). One of the shelf pieces bent in shipment and now we have a crease going down it. It took hours to assemble (they only sent exactly the # of bolts etc you need and some got lost in shipment) by my husband who is VERY handy. And he said it will stand pretty but could fall apart if not moved carefully!
