5.0 out of 5 stars Bush Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry
I felt this product was a great product for the money. Assemby does take a few hours, but the product looks beautiful when completed. I did not find any issues with pieces being damaged during shipping. I did not have an issue with the desk being crooked when put together, of course, my husband assembled the desk, and is an engineer by trade. He said pieces were easily...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not recommend for family has toddlers
This desk looks nice, but the quality is poor. The drawers were damage when received, I called the customer service and they sent me the new ones.
Some parts of the desk should be metal but they are plastic instead. So, it is very easy to break. My 16 months old son opened the drawers and CPU door a few times and they broke. They are very easy to get scratches.

3.0 out of 5 stars Looks good but somewhat flimsy, February 8, 2008
By
This review is from: Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry (Kitchen)
Pros:
1.Appearance-Desk looks very sophisticated
2.Style-Elegant design
3.Storage-Fairly sizable drawers

Cons:
1.Workmanship-although the materials look good it is rather cheap and easily damaged. The desk is assembled in two large pieces and when moving there is significant strain at the connection interface.
2.Drawers don't line up precisely
3.Due to the location of the tower, a lot of the wires had to be stretched significantly in order to reach the surge protector. This makes addition of peripherals VERY difficult since pulling out the tower is nearly impossible without ripping the wires out.
4.Pulling the tower scratches the finish.
5.Assembly took a VERY long time and I have experience assembling many of these types of furniture.
6.Tower seems to heat up a lot faster inside the compartment due to poor airflow.

Bottom line: Not bad for the price, but certainly not great.

3.0 out of 5 stars solid, but crooked, June 4, 2008

I hate this about a lot of pressed board furniture: the pre-drilled holes are not in the right place and the drawers and doors are all crooked when you're finished.

It looks sloppy. The door is the only straight piece on this because it can be adjusted with the hinges.

The keyboard tray slides out very easily which is sometimes not so with this type of furniture. It is a beautiful color and would look awesome if the drawers weren't so crooked.

It's very solid, doesn't wobbly at all and has just the right amount of storage space. It has a nice thin 2 shelf system above the filing cabinet section that is perfect for routers, cable modems & other small devices to be placed and free up desk/floor space.

Next time I will be spending more for real wood furniture with STRAIGHT drawers. But for the price, this serves it's purpose well.

I would recommend this product and this seller.

2.0 out of 5 stars Keep looking...., November 15, 2009
This review is from: Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry (Kitchen)
I bought this desk from a Bush outlet and it was shipped to my house. It arrived broken. The desktop was literally cracked in half. For what should be a very substantial piece of the desk, that should not have happened. So my first impression is that this is not very good quality, even though UPS probably dropped or dameaged it.
Once I put it together, I could see that the whole work area of the desk is basically unsupported underneath, and has two rather flimsy legs. So moving this thing into my living room was a bit dangerous as the desk twisted and buckled as I moved it over the carpeting. I'm afriad to ever move it again, I suspect one day the top will crack in half.

I had no trouble with getting the doors/drawer straight, as some people have posted, but it is good to have a level to help you get the alignment right. What bugs me about this whole desk is that unlike other put together desks I've had - the finish is not really wood laminate. It's a wood grain printed PAPER! So within days, my son had chipped off a small bit of the finish on the cpu door. After 2 months of use, the edges of the desk are also showing wear and I've had to use a furniture scratch pen to "paint" over the scratches. I don't see this desk lasting very long at all. However, its one of the few desks I've seen that has a CPU door, which is very helpful with a toddler in the house.

4.0 out of 5 stars Had this for a year, July 29, 2009

I have been using this desk for the past year and had not had any major problems with it. It is fibeboard/MDF and paper. It looks great but the paper does come off easily especially if your kids put stickers on it! I have moved it 3 time and disassembled it into 2 or 3 pieces (tower and file cabinest can be removed from the top and legs section) to make the transfer easier and used a blanket to sheild it from scratches and that seemed to do the trick.
All my drawers and door asembled correctly so no issues there, but I did get some parts dinged up but they did not show and I took the cove off the back of the tower for more ventilation

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon pricing is unacceptable!!!, February 28, 2008

This feedback is within two weeks of assembling the desk.

Pros:
-- I got what I was looking for - a corner desk.

Cons:
-- The drawer on upper left corner does not line up correctly.
-- The desk is difficult and awkward to move. Plan to use the desk for at least 2-5 years.
-- The desk scratches very easily.
-- You will have to purchase a longer monitor, keyboard, and mouse cables.
I ended up buying a wireless keyboard/mouse.
Amazon pricing is not correct!!!
-- I found the same desk at Walmart for 187.78 and Amazon will not price match!!!
Here is the URL to Walmart's desk:

I used to blindly shop at Amazon, now I won't!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars the first 6 months...., August 23, 2010
This review is from: Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry (Kitchen)
We have had this for a year and a half and during the first 6 months it fell apart. The handles broke, the glass door fell off, and the finished is ruined.
First off the handles broke right in half. No big deal they can be replaced. But then the glass door started falling off everyday and was a huge hassle to put back on. However it did tend to make the tower suffocate and run too hot, to the point where I had to turn off the computer or risk it over heating it. So I'm glad the glass is gone.
Lastly the finish on this thing is paper thin. If you put a piece of scotch tape on it or accidently run your fingernail across it the finish comes off and you are left looking at particle board. There is almost no finish on top now.
I was so pleased when this desk came, it looked great and was a good fit for everything I needed. But now it looks so awful. I wish I would have spent more on something nicer.
If you decide to get it please buy a glass or plastic top to save the finish, and don't install the glass door. Better yet just buy something else.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the reviews had me believe, June 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry (Kitchen)
I have had this desk for close to a year now. It is an exceptional desk. Yes the quality is not top notch and yes it does scratch easily. But it is a good looking piece of furniture with good storage capabilities and is indeed quite sturdy.

I have two monitors, 2 speakers with a sub-woofer, printer, two monitors, lamp, external hard drive, usb port hub, 3 pencil cups, a plastic supply tray, 15+ CDs, a clock, a tin box, a glass jar,and 14 books. And that is just what i have on the desk and i still have plenty of room to actually work on the desk. This doesn't count the three drawers and two shelves.
The position of the tower does make it difficult for wires to reach it and pulling it out can be a pain. I find that my standard keyboard and mouse have cords long enough to reach the computer tower with extra cord left over. A usb port hub can easily fix the problem if your cords are too short.

Putting the desk together took me several long hours (over 5) as i was working alone and the directions were poor. Fortunately there is enough in the directions to figure out how to put the thing together. I did end up with two crooked drawers and realized the instructions were wrong. The metal slides of the crooked drawer were both right (or left) oriented drawer slides which resulted in the crooked drawer problem. Figuring this out makes it easy to fix. Just switch it with the other crooked drawer slides. (Btw - the crooked drawer for me was the one above the computer tower and the filing drawer).

Despite the fact that the material isn't the best and I've read reviews of issues with the sturdiness of the desk i have found that it is holding up very well. It is helpful to keep in mind that i paid less that $215 for it and so may you.
This is a good deal.

2.0 out of 5 stars A desk that has kinda lasted....., February 16, 2011
This review is from: Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry (Kitchen)
I was just browsing new desks and came across the one I had, so figured I would comment real quick on it for others looking for a good quality desk at a good price point. Like I said in title, "a desk that kinda lasted." It has for the price point I suppose. I bought this at office max 3 years ago or so and amazingly enough is still up! Not without help. I have had to super glue it, fango brackets for it and even have given up on other areas as well. I realize it is not a desk that will last forever, heck barley 3 years. I suppose at the $199 dollar special I bought it on it has done well, just thought I would last longer than the 3 years.

Now here I am browsing for a new desk and really don't want to spend the funds on another one, but just might have too.

Pros-lasted 3 years, lol!
-Looks nice in our apartment as it is easy to match.
-Love the layout and can put lots of items on top and has plenty of storage.
-Fits big towers and has again a nice look to the door, overall a nice looking desk.

Cons-Has broke in so many places I have lost count.
-God forbid you have a glass of anything sweat....brings up the finish mighty quick. I have young kids and no matter how much I pay attention, I can't always keep and eagle eye on them and their sippy cups sweat easily...
-Drawers break easily...since I have become lazy with fixing this pile, I decided heck with it and currently missing front part to one drawer, Tower door is crocked and hits other drawers to point it is nicking finish on other drawers....user error, like I said, became lazy...still shouldn't have done that already. What is crazy is all bolts, nuts, screws are tight!
-Don't dare try and move this thing, even when taking everything out. I even inspected nuts, screws, bolts..looked good, had one other person help me move it, mistake!

Bottom line is I suppose you pay for what you get and I got a cheap desk and now looking to upgrade to something better and hopefully better quality. Maybe you had better luck than with me? I don't know, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth to try another Bush product.
