5.0 out of 5 stars FORGET THE AGENDA -- IT'S JUST DOWNRIGHT FUNNY
Just finished it! Wondeful! Brilliant! And fast. I'm a Libertarian--my candidate ALWAYS loses! So get over it and sit back and enjoy an inventive, out-of-the-box, fresh, cynical-at-times, all-over-the-place, never-know-what-to-next-expect explosion of fun. It reads like 20 years SNL on speed. Boom, boom, boom! Some folks publish agendas, others therapy, but this is a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Funny but Unnecessary
This book was rush-released in the wake of the 2004 election. I found a copy at my local bookstore so soon after the election that I can only assume the publisher had already compiled the book on the expectation that Bush would take a second term. It's a mix of actual pointers on getting through the second Bush term and a bunch of jokes designed to take some of the...

5.0 out of 5 stars thank goodness, November 9, 2004
This review is from: The Bush Survival Bible: 250 Ways to Make it Through the Next Four Years Without Misunderestimating the Dangers Ahead, and Other Subliminable Stategeries (Paperback)
After the past week it was a blessing to read a humorous yet thought provoking book on how we survive the next four years before we reclaim the country for ALL Americans, not just some. If you need a pick-me-up i highly recommend it. If you're one of the 48% who don't like the lies and corruption of the present administration, do yourself a favor and buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Than Expected, November 29, 2004
This review is from: The Bush Survival Bible: 250 Ways to Make it Through the Next Four Years Without Misunderestimating the Dangers Ahead, and Other Subliminable Stategeries (Paperback)
I began reading "The Bush Survival Bible," thinking it would be a simple lampooning of the re-elected President. To my surprise, I found insights into politics from thoughtful people and interesting suggestions on how to re-build an opposition party. This book is more about a common humanity than politics, with a tangy sense of humor that makes it very readable. "The Bush Survival Bible" is a very pleasant surprise.

How can 59,054,087 people be so dumb? That's a question the other 55,949,407 of us who didn't vote for Dubya will be pondering for some time to come. While you're waiting this out, patiently or otherwise, you should be reading Stone's very funny and surprisingly upbeat new book. His message is clear. Don't let this defeat get you down. Remember, it's only four more years.

This book turned out to be better than I anticipated. Bush stories, Bushisms, politics in America, things to tell our children ("We survived Nixon; you can survive the Bush years.") For all of us who felt numb when Kerry lost, who cannot believe what Bush is doing to our economy & country, this book offers humor and hope. Worth reading & sharing with others. Buy it!

I found it painful to even think about another four years of the Bush administartation. However, Gene Stone's book helped me out of my depression and got me back on the political action horse. Mr. Stone's unique perspective gave me a glimmer of hope that we can survive! And it is a fun read!
