Big is not better.,

These binocs are too heavy for birding. You need something lighter and with a wider field of view. The optics on these are just average. I tried to mount them onto a chest strap and the flange broke off. Now I cannot even use a neck strap, so I am stuck with trying to get them onto a tripod, but I cannot find a tripod adaptor that fits. Also the eyepieces easily screw off the binocs if you are not careful, and you will have a devil of a time trying to get them to work properly if that happens-the inside pin that keeps them in place broke off very easily. Cheap construction all around. And to make matters worse, they did not come with caps to cover the front lenses. Good luck on finding caps that fit. For birding and routine field work I recommend 6.5x32 or similar sized binocs of better quality. I bought Vortex Fury 6.5x32 binocs for about twice the price of these and am much happier with the replacement. These will go to Goodwill.

I did a lot of research (it was quite agonizing, to be honest) and finally settled on this product. I am very glad I did. I bought these to watch and identify birds. The binoculars are very easy to adjust and I can see small details very well. I don't know much about binoculars, but I bought my son a pair of Eagle Opitics 10x21 and it was VERY hard to see out of them~ mainly because your peripheral vision was extremely limited. I don't know how anyone would ever be happy with a 21mm binoculars- especially when they are magnified at 10! Unless you are pointed right at your target, it is hard to find what you are looking for. The Natureview binoculars with the 42mm give you a wide scope of vision. It is easy to search the yard and quickly adjust the vision when you find your target. I am very pleased with the decision to buy this product.

Worked great for what I needed,

I wanted a decent pair of binoculars with which to view the last launch of Space Shuttle Discovery. Luckily, I found an article online discussing this exact topic. It made several suggestions in different price ranges, and I went with this one. I was a little worried that it would be shakey to see much, but didn't want to spend the money for a model with shake correction. But it worked out fine--I was able to get a very clear view of the launchpad and the shuttle, and was able to follow its trajectory almost until it disappeared into space. Was also able to get a clear view of the booster rockets separating and falling. So, they worked for what I needed. Now I have a decent pair of binoculars for future uses as well. My only complaint is that the lens caps it comes with fall off so easily as to be almost useless.

THESE BUSHNELLS WERE ABSOLUTELY DEFECTIVE AND WORSE THAN USELESS. I RETURNED THEM FOR FULL CREDIT.
HOW CAN A COMPANY THAT USED TO MAKE A QUALITY PRODUCT PUT OUT BINOCULARS THAT CANNOT FOCUS? I BOUGHT PENTAX INSTEAD AND AM HAPPY WITH MY SECOND CHOICE. |
