weight is more than the range finder, and clip is extra large will not fit thin places must be extra thick to hold it...

This device is a great idea and the retraction feature as well as the ease of attaching it to the range finder is great. But, the clip does not stay on a standard golf strap. Within the first hole of using it the first time, I had to ditch it. The clip falls right off the strap. The clip needs a secondary locking feature so that it does not let gravity or the force of holding the range finder while the straps move cause it to fall off the strap.

I bought this solely for golf to use while walking. The first thing I noticed is that the unit's clip consistently came off my bag strap. This happened once in the parking lot, which cost me some scratches on my brand new and not so inexpensive Bushnell V3 Tour. I was able to remedy the poor design by using a zip tie through the clip after it had been attached to the strap. However, after only 6 months of use the cable snapped at the square plastic housing that connects to the ring. An email to customer support requesting a replacement under warranty resulted in a not so prompt response advising me to send it in for repair...for a nominal $10 processing fee. Obviously, this option is not worth the cost and hassle as I can simply buy a replacement for $15. Having owned three Bushnell rangefinders, while I like them and feel they are the best for me, my experience with Bushnell's customer service is that it is very slow and stringent. One would think that they would take care of their loyal customers by simply sending out a replacement for a $15 accessory (that probably costs them $5 to make) but apparently customer service/loyalty is not their #1 priority. Nikon has a similar type of product, which I owned but gave to a friend since I liked the way the Bushnell model screwed into the rangefinder unit. If I remember correctly, the Nikon unit seems like it had a thicker cable and it definitely had a better clip system. Guess I'll have to give the Nikon a try again since I'm sure the Bushnell will break again down the road.

Really great idea and I thought I was golden. Well on an archery I was using it constantly and one night got back to the truck and low and behold, no rangefinder. Although better than an other product I had seen, I would recommend lock-tite...cause with a lot of use and dangle, it can come unscrewed. Now I need to find a new range finder....
