It is great to not have to get the computer up and running to check the forecast for the next day.

Depending on the lighting conditions, it can be a little too dark and hard to read.

The item works as advertised, or just about. It's supposed to display a 3-day forecast, and it does. I live in Boston and the weather is unpredictable, so it's good to be able to check the latest forecast in the morning before leaving for work, without having to turn on the PC.

However, here's a problem: the forecast you see on the display is not the same you'll get if you go online on AccuWeather's website. Temperatures, in particular, seem to be off. One day it tells me it's in the mid-70s. It's summer, so temperature should be higher, but hey, it's Boston. So I go out, and surprise, it's torrid (for New England, that is). I go back, check AccuWeather online, and it says mid-90s.

Another, somewhat smaller problem is that you can only display temperatures in Fahrenheit, not Celsius. For most of us is not a big deal, but it's a limitation that has no reason to be there.

All in all, a good product, which could be very good if they fix the temperature glitch and perfect if it learns about the metric system and the Celsius scale.

Very reliable weather forecasts, I have the 3-day in the bedroom, 5 day at work on my desk and the 7-day in my home office.

I'm in Greenville and the forecasts in the morning seem to be timely and accurate but in the evening the current conditions seems to lag about 1-2 hours behind (judging by the temperature registered).

Google search Bushnell WeatherFX to get a list of cities that get forecasts. The list of cities is fixed and selectable by the rocker switch on the front of the device.

The 3 and 5 day forecasters are the best in my opnion-just the right size and amount of information displayed, the 7-day is a bit overkill but great if you're into weather.

I bought this for my wife who, to my mind, was a bit obsessed with next day's whether. We live in California, so the weather is usually "sunny," but hey, what do I know.

Two things: first, go to their website and make sure your city is covered. It has two buttons on the right that go up or down to scroll through the covered cities. If your city is not covered, you don't have the option to enter a zip code or manually enter the city information.

Second, it consumes power like a bastard. The page is a bit misleading. I thought you could use an adapter (not included, of course), so I bought one for about $[...]. Well, to my surprise and frustration, this model does not take AC adapters. Only batteries (3 AA). So, either stock up on batteries (because it will gobble them up), or get yourself some rechargeable batteries.

As for accuracy, it is usually consistent with the local news weather forecast and other websites (they probably get the info from the same source).

If I had known, I would have probably purchased the higher priced model that uses an adapter.

Our 3 day Weather FX works really well with a few caveats that are minor to us. I had checked out our city (Tampa), to make sure it was on the coverage list before purchasing. It was super easy to set up and I particularly liked that it didn't have to be linked to our computer in any way. It is great to not have to get the computer up and running to check the forecast for the next day. We have had two issues I consider small. One day for a few hours the tempuratures were registering at -9 degrees, when it was in the 50's. We checked other cities and they all were off. My guess would be the Weather center had emitted improper data with a computer glitch or something, but it was soon corrected on its own. The other issue, is that it gives current temperature and there are times that it is off from our outdoor gage. This could be attributed to variations in temperature around the city of Tampa, and the average temperature of Tampa being reported by our Weather FX. Still we have it on our refrigerator and find it to be super convenient and accurate. The magnet is very strong so it is not sliding down. It also has a clock that is completely accurate and set itself. If you live in one of the 150 cities covered by this device (I think the Bushnell website had the link to check), then this device is great. We are considering getting one for my husband's dad in Boston.

This is an almost perfect product for me and the current heavily-discounted price makes it a great value. When I'm getting ready for work I want to know what the temperature is now and what the forecast is for the rest of the day. I'm also interested in the next couple of days - to a lesser extent. This gives me all that information where I want it. I've tried to use an inside/outside thermometer, but have had trouble finding a good location for the sending unit outside. With this product you just need to find the signal for your metropolitan area and it does the rest.

I haven't noticed the problems with erroneous temps that others have reported, but you can't reasonably expect the report for, say, "Los Angeles" is going to give you the exact temp outside your particular house.

The only problem I've had is that the unit uses up batteries pretty quickly, but I can live with that.
