I actually ordered a second one of these immediately after recieving the first.

The clarity of this scope at 90' at a target is amazing. You can easily count the #9 shots on the card. I would say that it may be a bit heavy for hunting BUT if the weight doesn't bother you this is just a great scope at a really good price. It is prefered over one that costs just about four times the price, really. I was hoping for good, better than average but I feel confident in saying as long as you don't get a bad apple that can be in any bunch, you will be happy with this model "Bushnell Banner 6-24x40 Rifle Scope Mill Dot Recticle" . As a note, the front is adjustable though not clear in photo or description on every site which made me hesitant to initially purchase. Just a solid buy if you are in the market.

I mounted the banner 6-24 on a Rem 700V 308. It worked ok for about 110 rounds. Apparently recoil killed it. When I would fire, the scope would blur slightly. It would not hold zero anymore. I wasted a box of custom loads trying to figure it out. Took it off and shook it, and there is pieces rattling around inside. I am sending it back to Bushnell for warranty. They say it was shock tested on, and rated to, a .375 caliber... whatever that means. If they choose to fix it I might try it on my 243, but its probably more suited for a very small caliber gun. Go with a Nikon or Leupold. You wont regret it in the long run.

I have had this scope mounted on a 270. I have had problem keeping the 0 for windage. Recently I was teaching my wife and two other ladies How to shoot. I have them shooting 1 1/2 inch groups at 200 yds. I reload my own amo it realy helps with the grouping. I moved the windage off 0 and told Cortiny to 0 the wepon. When she attempted to remone the turret cap the turret came off the scope. I sent it in to Bushnell they sent me a letter stating the damage was not covered by warranty and also stated I could send in $132.40 AND THEY WOULD REPLACE IT. I looked on AMAZON and found the scope NEW for $109.00. Bushnell makes a great product but like other comments I think the Bushnell scopes should be used on small caliber rifles. I have 23 rifles on 12 of them I have bushnell scopes the scopes mounted on the 270, 30-60 and 7mm mag have been sent in for repair. I am not putting Bushnell down, the scopes are great for the price but I need something for bigger cal.

Purchased this scope for my Marlin 17HMR heavy barrel with pro fire trigger,once I had it zearoed at 100 yds. was able to use milldot's at 150 and 200yds I use cci 17gr. shooting from bench rest with large sandbag. My reason for buying this scope was the purpose of being able to focus the targets at the warious ranges as I wear glasses but not when I am shooting only regular shooting glasses.I am 68 years old and need the higher power for target shooting even though you do get alot more movement at the higher powers, for target shooting I found 12 power works best for me at 100yds. 18 at 150 and 24 at 200. this will all be personal preference as to how you choose to use your scope.
I put another 6-24x40 on my Ruger 17HMR and zeroed it at 150yds. my reason for this is with the scope AO adjusted for max clarity at that range I can shoot 50,100,150 and 200 yd. critters without changeing anything on the scope at 12 power. I shot numerous rounds at each range to determine where I sight for each distance even though the focus is a little off you still can shoot 1& 1/2 inch groups at all ranges out to 100yds. then the groups go out to 2 or so inches still close enough for kill shots on groundhogs.for shots under 100 yds. I shoot 2 inches below center, for 150 dead on and at 200 between first and second milldot.
So far I have put over 200 rounds through each rifle and this scope is dead on when put back to where you have it zeroed,Amazon.com had the best price and wal-Mart had the Marlin heavy barrel with pro-fire trigger for $187.00 plus tax.
If you are new to useing a scope remember you have three adjustments you can use to make the scope work best for you,AO for range power for magnification and don't forget eye relief adjustment for added clarity on cross hairs and proper eye relief.

I ordered one for a co-worker and after looking it over I am thinking about ordering a few for myself. I have several of the Bushnell Elite 4200 series scopes and they are fantastic, but 5 times the price. If you are looking for good glass at a very affordable price, this is your scope, it will focus down to 10 yards so it is great for the Gallery or indoor 50 foot league shooting yet can be turned up for the outdoor stuff.

I had an earlier version on my 30-06 and love the scope. Our 243 needed a better scope and I saw this and figured at the listed price how could you go wrong. Great clarity, distance, low light. Just a great scope.

This scope is very good, i had no problems whit it. It was deliver fast and after mounted on the rifle, it was just pure fun!!!

I purchased this scope to place on my Howa 1500. It is a nice, clear scope for the money. The only negative I have with the scope is the elevation turret. After placing the scope in the new mount, I wanted to bore sight the rifle, but when i went to take off the turret cap from the elevation turret, the cap had somehow been stuck to the turret, which resulted with the turret being removed completely from it's mount inside the scope's tube.
