Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The advanced technology of the handheld Bushnell DNS Pro allows quick, easy access to essential information in one compact package. Wherever you go, the DNS (Digital Navigation System) provides the most accurate location information at your fingertips. All Bushnell models features an alarm clock with snooze function, calendar, thermometer, and compass with cardinal points. The DNS Pro also features a barometer, altimeter, and weather forecasting functionality. It's protected by a rugged rubber-armored, 100-percent waterproof housing and has a large, backlit LCD monitor. Weather Forecasting Function
The DNS Pro's barometer is a tool that measures how heavy the air is, which helps to determine movement of weather pattern. For instance, a rising barometer means that the air is becoming more stable (and nicer) and a falling barometer means the air is becoming less stable (stormier). The DNS Pro is designed to forecast the weather up to 24 hours in advance.

The DNS Pro takes barometric pressure every hour and compares current pressure with the previous one to trace the change. If pressure keeps rising or falling for more than 3 hours, weather condition will be changed relative to the change in pressure. The weather forecast is calculated from the change in pressure per time period.

Power
The DNS Pro is powered by 2 AAA batteries. It is designed for continuous use and batteries will last over one year with regular usage. Heavy use of the alarms, light, or compass will shorten battery life.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bushnell should stick to making binoculars, January 1, 2009
By
This review is from: Bushnell DNS Pro Handheld Digital Compass (Sports)
I had one of these units or something very simular, and it just didn't work. It was supposed to give altitute based on barometric pressure. It just didn't work at all.
I set it at known elevations (Blue Ridge Parkway overlook signs) and traveled to the next sign. The readings were all over the palce. Not one accruate reading.
I contacted Bushnell and they admitted the unit did not work as it was supposed to. They would not give me my money back. ($75.00)
Insted they sent me there botom of the line binoculars which I wouldn't pay $25.00 for. I say they should stick to optics, but I have steered clear of the company alltogether.
