These Bushnell elite 4200 scopes are excellent for the $$$. Sure they are a little bigger and heavier than similar powered scopes from other manufacturers, but the glass is superb. Extremely bright and clear, what more could you ask for at this price point? They are also quite durrible, 10,000 rounds of .375 H&H is no laughing matter... In my opinion, these are clearer and brighter than the Leupolds in the same price range.

While I'm not a hunting type, I like to have a scope for SHTF purposes. I was originally going to go with red dot sites for an AK47, but after seeing the usefulness of 3-9 magnification, I'm sold on zoom. Good clear optics and easy to calibrate with a side rail on a Saiga 7.62x39. I'm confident I could drop a target efficiently with this scope, and the 40mm, while not the brightest, lets in plenty of light to even be useful for night purposes.

Excellent optics and RainGuard coating, plus a Lifetime warranty. The optics are clear and bright and the adjustments are solid and repeatable.

Bought this scope as an upgrade for my woodchuck rifle. Didn't want a bunch of "bells & buzzers" to fuss with before taking a shot. This scope has been on my rifle now for a full "chuck" season. It's simple excellence!! Pick the power/zoom and shoot. Nice clear sight picture and has held it's "zero" perfectly even after a few bumps.

A great alternative to the high end Nikons and Leupold scopes, the Elite 4200 scopes have higher light transmission (95%) than most of their competition and are considered to be among the toughest scopes in any price class. I particularly appreciate the Rainguard coating when hunting in rainy weather.

My son-in-law and I have purchased four Elite 4200 scopes in the last two years and we couldn't be more satisfied. I prefer them over my Leupold VX3 scopes. Highly recommended.

But this scope made me a believer! I was not expecting this kind of quality from Bushnell, I must admit.
I read plenty of reviews but I take all that stuff with a grain of salt. This scope is easily the best value in a 40mm scope on the market. It's clarity and brightness competes only with my Leica (which was gifted to me, I would never spend that much on a scope!)

This scope is an excellent value for the price. I currently have three other scopes on hunting rifles and the 4200 Bushnell is brighter than all but my Leopold Var X III. It is brighter and has more acceptable eye relief at high magnification than my 3200 / 3x9 Bushnell. It is also brighter than my 3x9 Nikon Buckmaster.

You cannot go wrong with this scope. I have not had the chance to test out the rain guard in the field yet, but everything else works as advertised. You will not be able to find anything of this quality at this price.

I was setting up a rifle for one of my kids. I have a Leupold Vari X III on my personal rifle but couldn't bring myself to spend the nearly seven hundred for optics on this rifle set up. My neighbor up the street is an avid hunter and has both Leupold and Bushnell Elites. He said he couldn't tell the difference in poor light between the two and therefore prefers to buy Bushnell Elites. I ordered the Bushnell Elite 4200 3x9. Now that I can personally compare them in the last light of the day, I agree with my neighbor, as I couldn't tell the difference....both were excellent! I have a few hunting buddies who poo poo-ed the purchase stating that Leupolds have a Lifetime warranty. To which my answer was that I couldn't tell the difference in the optics and I could buy 2 or 3 Bushnell Elite 4200's for the price of a Leupold Vari X III. So I give them a very high recommend and will likely purchase more of this model in future hunting rifle builds.
