Excellent Binoculars.., December 26, 2010
The ones I bought are the Bushnell H20 8 x 42 with the roof prism. I have never owned or used binoculars before so I was a bit unsure of what to buy. I spent probably a week reviewing various ones on amazon and at product websites including Bushnell's site. Based on the fact that my price range was under $80 I wanted binoculars that retailed for over $100 but were on sale. I also did not want to compromise quality based on prior experiences of you get what you pay for. I won't compare these to top end models because these are the only ones I've owned. So now on to the review.
So I received these a few days ago and I am very impressed. Right off the bat you can tell these are durable and of quality construction. The size is nice, not super compact but not bulky. They weigh 25 oz, which is not much and they don't feel even that heavy. I really like how they feel in the hands. Nice and solid. The rubber grips on the side are nice and the solid exterior skin feels complete. No wobbly bits or cheap plastic. Solid all around construction. Also it came with straps to hang it around your neck. These aren't the expensive kind of straps so you may want to buy a pair of nice camera straps if you are planning to wear these around the neck alot. Also it has a nice soft case.
There are rubber caps for the lenses that are strapped to the middle and also connected rubber eye cups that are removable. You also get a cleaning cloth that can be stored in the case.
I've read some reviews where people claimed that these might not fit someone with a wider face, which I find very hard to believe because they fitment on my eyes results in a fairly close setting with plenty of room to expand. Your eyes would have to be very far apart to not be able to use these.
As a novice, it took me all of 5-10 minutes to configure them and start focusing in on objects outside the house. This morning after a little adjustment I was able to read a street sign over 300 yards away. It is very easy to adjust these from short distances to far. Yesterday I was able to watch a blue jay on a limb about 8-10 yards away and it was very clear. Adjusting between 8-10 yards and 300 yards is pretty easy and quick. I have not tried further out but they should have a field of vision somewhere around 365 yards at the 1000 yard distance. The optics are very good. Not shaky at all. Even at a pretty far distance they are very stable. Very impressed.
Bushnell is known as a solid manufacturer of binoculars and other hunting/camping equipment. They are a solid company and this is a great product. You want a well known company that stands behind their products in case you have any issues that need resolved. Bushnell has been around a long time. So brand was pretty important to me.
Another reason i bought these was because they are also fog proof and waterproof. I wanted something durable and quality built that would last a very long time in all sort of conditions. I have not tested the water proof claim yet but with the eye cups and lense caps on there is a noticeable seal on these that is impressive. I plan on taking these hunting, bird watching, camping as well as to concerts. They are rugged and dependable with crystal clear optics. I had no problems buying these from Optics Sale on amazon.
Whether these go with you hunting, bird watching, camping, to ball games, to concerts or just get put in your survival bag you will be happy.

H20 Binos 150842, July 13, 2009
September: The longer I own these binoculars the more I like them now that these have taken some trips. Fit and finish is as good as it gets, Optical qualities are very good. I should have bought 2 pair, uno por me esposa ....
July:
I needed a pair of decent quality binos for a trip to Alaska to observe whales and wild life. The weather was going to be lousy so I wanted anti-fog and waterproof features plus the nifty rubber armor coating found on quality items. After checking the specs from the many models available I chose the Bushnell H20 because this pair seemed to have everything and didn't cost a fortune for the few times they will be used, good choice. The Binos arrived in a few days in a rather small box, the roof prism construction sure makes for a small bino.
Well how is performance, GREAT! The fit and finish is excellent, the extendable eye cups work perfect for me with or without glasses on. The 4 attached lense covers didn't give me any trouble and the rubber armor finish works like it should and gives a high touch of quality. Since the binos were carried in and out of a Warm Cabin into the chilly wet air I was worried about fogging up but there was non, the view was always crystal clear.
The only slight negative is the neck strap, opt for a nice cloth one from a camera store with more positive adjusters since the stockers allowed the strap to slip loose and almost fell to the floor. Something to watch for and check now and then.
Overall very worth the ~~$80, 4.5 stars ! I would buy another pair for my RV and day car. Why not 5 stars, well I don't know just how better a 5 star rated bino would be.

Great Binucular, March 2, 2010
I bought this Binocular for my recent trip to Hawaii, and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. The 42 mm lens made it easy to see stuff even when the light was minimal. The extendable lens cups is a wonderful feature especially if you wear glasses. The focus was easy to perform. It's size was relatively small for this type (Roof Prism) and the power of 8X42mm. I have not soaked it in water yet, but the lable says it should survive. All in all, it looks like a nice, well build, and fairly priced binocular. I would recommend it in a blink of an eye. However, if you have shaky hands you probably would rather get a less magnification power (say 6X) as it may be a problem if you cannot keep it steady.
