5.0 out of 5 stars Bushnell 12x50mm Powerview 131250 Binocular with Bushnell 3-watt LED 100200 Flashlight, August 7, 2010

This review is from: Bushnell Powerview 12X50 Binocular & 3 Watt LED Flashlight Bundle (Electronics)
Binoculars are decent quality, the zoom lever takes some getting used to if you're accustomed to using a zoom knob, but that is a minor detail. At 12x power, my hands shake too much to get a decent image, so I ended up buying a tripod and binocular adapter the next week. My recommendation is if you're planning on using it free handed, buy Binocs no higher power than 10x.

I primarily use these binocs for stargazing, they're great for starting out due to the very reasonable price, but I can already see that I'm going to be buying binocs with a 70mm aperture sooner than later. If you're buying for the same purpose, save yourself the trials and go with a 15x70mm and get a tripod/adapter right off the bat.

As an aside, don't let the flashlight be a determining factor for you. It takes expensive camera style batteries to operate, and mine has an issue with turning on when you push the button. It's poor quality, but even without the flashlight this is still a good price for the binocs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Forget the binoculars, the flashlight ROCKS!, December 13, 2009

This review is from: Bushnell Powerview 12X50 Binocular & 3 Watt LED Flashlight Bundle (Electronics)
The binoculars are par for the money, typical Bushnell, built tough, with OK optics etc. But the flashlight is worth the [...] bucks by its self, if you price out tactical flashlights of this quality you would expect to pay $20-$50 more than this for them. It is powerful, has the strobe feature, and has a great "always on" glow light on the switch that you can turn on when your camping or whatever to quickly find it and it draws virtually no power to use. With all the competition amongst the tactical flashlight producers this one got lost, probably because it was their first try at flashlights. Now they are bundling it with a decent pair of binoculars and the package is a great deal...
