Disappointing,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bushnell Powerview 10x25 Compact Folding Roof Prism Binocular (Black) (Electronics)
I found focusing these binoculars difficult, to almost impossible. Once in focus, they would not stay in focus. The adjustment focus for individual eyes also would not stay focused properly and would jump out of focus for no identifiable reason. The clarity of the image was far worse than I have come to expect from Bushnell products. I returned them for a refund.

These binoculars are great. They will fit in your shirt pocket and not even weigh it down. They are really clear too. I love to take them to sports events. And I keep them in my pocket, so I don't drop or beak them! I would recomend them strongly.

Bushnell 10x25 Powerview FRP,

This is a nice binocular for the price. Its got a great field of view, great light gathering and a very clear lense system. Its lite enough to carry anywhere and comes with a belt carry case too. If you need a light portable binocular for most amateur uses, this is a great choice for less than $20.

Difficult to focus even when brand new. Jostle it too much and you'll have to start squinting even more when you use them. In all honesty, however, I didn't expect much from a $17 pair of binoculars.

I own 3 pairs of binos (Nikon Action 8x42, Nikon Travelite 9x25, Bushnell Powerview 8x21) in addition to my new pair of Bushnell Powerview 10x25. We're big Nascar fans in my house so extra binoculars come in handy at the track. My Nikons are on a higher level but so is the price. With that said, lets get to the Bushnells. My Powerview 8x21's have excellent crispness and image quality. They are well constructed, lightweight, and good looking. They don't leave much to be desired for as far as compacts are concerned and the price can't be beat. I wish I could say the same for my new Powerview 10x25. They too are lightweight, good looking, and economical. My main issue is the central focusing knob. It has too much flashback and isn't tight enough, hence, not allowing me to get a very crisp image. The only thing that saved my focus is the diopter which I can get somewhat clear. Optic aficionados may say that I'm asking for too much magnafication (10x) in too small a field of view (25). This may be true, but I doubt thats the only issue since my Nikon 9x25's (almost the same magnafiction) are impeccable. The pros may also say that the Powerviews have bak-7 prisims instead of high index bak-4's, therefore not allowing me the sharp image that i expect. This is definitely true but that still doesn't explain a few things. The image quality on my 8x21's are on a completely different level in comparison and they also have bak-7's. This could merely be a quality contol issue but coming from Bushnell, it's hard to understand. Will I buy Bushnell again? Yes, just not these. I should have bought another pair of 8x21. Will I throw them in the garbage? No, my 4 year old son gets them instead. If you can afford an extra $50, buy some Nikons. If not, go with the Powerview 8x21's. Now excuse me while I watch the race....."Gentlemen, start your engines!"

If you're looking for a pair that you don't want to lose sleep over losing or having your kid break, these are it. Having 20/15 vision, I find it's not easy keeping focus, because I have to change both the focus and the diopter on one of the lenses to bring an image into clear focus.

Quite poor,

The focus adjusting knob has far too much backlash making focus a hit and miss operation. The image quality is also quite poor. The loop stitching on the carry case probably came undone because the binoculars fell off my backpack. To say I was less than heartbroken at losing them is an understatement. As one of the other reviewers stated "You get what you pay for". In my case I'd paid for junk.

NICE SIZE FOR LADIES,
By
This review is from: Bushnell Powerview 10x25 Compact Folding Roof Prism Binocular (Black) (Electronics)
These are just the right size for ladies, specially for distance viewing. My husband cant get on with them because with the small eyepieces he cant rest them against his brow to steady them - they float- and go out of focus. For us with smaller eyesockets they sit very nicely and the lenses are very clear. The clarity and detail being just as good as my bigger much more expensive pair. Very light and handy you can just keep them in your pocket .

Fit for purpose! (Birdwatching),

For carrying around in the field while birdwatching these are great.
Lightweight, small enough to fit a jacket pocket, inexpensive (if you accidentally drop them), yet still great for quickly focussing on a flying bird. I have used these for years and am very satisfied. More expensive binoculars are clunky and clumsy to use in fast changing situations. Of course there are better binoculars but these are fit for purpose when it comes to birdwatching! Because they are affordable, I have several dotted around the house so I don't have to run for 'the' binoculars when an interesting bird is in the yard. I have enough of these so my grandchildren can also use them without worrying about a multi-hundred dollar investment getting damaged.

Returned twice--both defective in alignment,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bushnell Powerview 10x25 Compact Folding Roof Prism Binocular (Black) (Electronics)
I'm sure these binoculars are good in many ways, especially for the price, but mine were defective immediately out of the box--twice. I purchased a pair and found myself unable to correctly focus the image (yes, I followed all the directions). My image was doubled, and I looked up alignment problems and tested it by focusing on a horizontal wire and then slowly separating the lenses; the line was disconnected, indicating that the binoculars were not aligned. This is not something one can fix, and Bushnell's warranty requires paying shipping. I returned them to Amazon for a replacement, and found the replacement had the same issue, albeit not to as great of an extreme. Nonetheless 2 minutes of looking out of these would give anyone a headache.
