5.0 out of 5 stars Magni-ficent
Proving that there's life in the old dog yet, Bushnell have come up with this, the successor to the out-dated, poor-performing Trophy Splashproof Spotting Scope, and I have to say, it's a fantastic improvement. As soon as I took it out of the box I was impressed with its styling, shape, colour, and of course, waterproofness. I set it up in my front room and spent a happy...

1.0 out of 5 stars Frustration from DAY ONE!
Save your $$$ and buy something better than this! From day one, the focus is so touchy that you cannot get a good, clear focus, then if you do happen to get it focused, just touching the focus knob can literally knock it out of focus.

The zoom from 20 to 50 magnification is awkward to use and difficult to turn. Add to this the fact that the rubber power...

Add to this the fact that the rubber power adjustment ring slips. Had I known these things, I would NOT have purchased this.

UPDATE:
Well, the rubber power adjustment ring was slipping so much I finally decided I would repair it myself.
I carefully bent the rubber ring back about halfway (which was pretty difficult as that is thick rubber) and I inserted some clear epoxy around - sticking it as far in to the middle of the ring - fully around the circumference - as I could get it. I then let the rubber ring back down onto the epoxy, be careful as a little goes a long way!

After the epoxy set up, at least now the power adjustment is no longer a problem, however the focus adjustment continues to be a problem.

As soon as I took it out of the box I was impressed with its styling, shape, colour, and of course, waterproofness. I set it up in my front room and spent a happy couple of hours watching my neighbours coming and going, and they were oblivious to my surveillance. It's not the most subtle 'scope out there but stick a blanket over your head and you're laughing. Any one who has been caught out in the rain will appreciate this little beauties moulded plastic housing, as water really does roll off it like, erm, water off a duck's back. Stunning.

3.0 out of 5 stars Product information incorrect - No Hard Side Carrying Case, April 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Bushnell Trophy 20-50x50 Waterproof Spotting Scope w/Tripod (Electronics)
I bought this spotting scope as a gift for my husband and one of his requirements was that it include a hard-side carrying case. Listed in the features section above it says "Hard-side and compact soft-side carrying cases included".
This is incorrect. This product does NOT include a Hard-side carrying case. I can't testify to the quality of the product as he has not yet tried it out, but just be aware that there is no hard side case with this product.
