I needed some light binoculars with good optics for all around use at the mountain cabin and while 4 wheeling in Utah. After looking at several brands in this size bracket, I purchased the Bushnell Trophy model. I have been pleased with the purchase. I especially like the larger optics in the eye pieces that allow for quick aquisition of the viewing target. Model works well in low light situations. No noticeable distortion at the edges of the optic field.

I also purchased some standard eye shields from Field Optic Research. Would highly recommend these inexpensive addons. They allow you to seat the binoculars very comfortably around your eyes which reduces jiggle and viewing fatigue as well as keeping out stray light on a bright day.

My wife and I both have a pair. They are mainly for use when travelling by airplane on vacation where size and weight are factors. At home, or when travelling by car, we use our 8.5x42 Swarovski EL binoculars. They retail at $2k each versus under $100 for the Bushnell's. This review, and your purchasing of these binoculars needs to take into account that the price equates to quality. The Trophy bins are small and will fit in larger cargo pant pockets, a purse or small carryall. They are also very light and easy on the neck and shoulders, which is a plus when doing a lot of walking. The central focusing knob is smoothe, especially in comparison to other brands of a like size. The individual right eyepiece can be adjusted, but we found it difficult to get it precisely where you want it for overall sharpness. The lenses are coated, but you do see a small circular corona. which is not objectionable. The field of view is decent.at 309 feet. The bins are nitrogen purged and waterproof. However, we haven't used them in rain as of this review. You can pick out birds in trees fairly easily. With the small objective lens the gathering of light at dusk and dawn is not nearly as good as the Swarvovsky. But, it is adequate. As is the fine tuning of objects. Our opinion, after testing these bins and several other compact bins (some in the $200+ range) is that these are better and you can't beat the price.

Bought these to avoid the extra weight of 8x42 binocs. Better than average optical quality for the price paid. Would be a better product with lens covers. Not a pair of Nikons but pretty close.

The manual mentioned Flip Objective Covers, however, I didn't find any. I checked with representative and Bushnell.com, it shows " the objective lenses are now protected from the elements by flip covers (42mm and 50mm only)."
NO COVERS for 8x32.
So sad, 32mm lens need to be protected, too.

I have been looking for a good quality pair of binoculars foryears and didn't want to spend a lot of dough. I did my homework and decided on these bushnell trophy 8x32's. I am very, well more than happy with these. They are very light and even forget their on my harness. The clarity of the glass is outstanding. I have friends that have spent upwards of 1500 bucks on optics and are no where near happy with theirs as I am with mine. I also recently purchased a bushnell trophy xlt scope for my ar-15 and am amazed with the quality of that as well... bushnell has come a long way. Not ur grandpas old set of binoculars any more.

I agree that these are a great pair of compact binoculars. I tried more than a dozen before purchasing these (used) thru Amazon. What sold me was the diameter of the lenses (32mm) which made objects seem so much brighter and lifelike. In my search for a pair of compact binoculars, most seemed to be around 25mm or 42mm. Either too big or too big or too small. These have a great sturdy and quality feel to them yet won't take up too much room in a backpack. Personally, I do feel that they are too big to put in a pocket of cargo pants or shorts. They would fit but would bulge a bit to make it uncomfortable to walk. I would like to add that there are no lenses caps but there is a case as well as a pouch and a small lenses cleaning cloth that comes with them.

Bought on a whim to fill a stocking gift with a deal of the day. I'm so glad I did. After several failed attempts, this set of binoculars has clear vision from across the street to miles away. There is no problem with double vision and I can see the mountains that are several hundred miles away very clearly. I guess I should have bought 2 pair of these because I find myself using them as much as the person I gave them to.

I got these around the time I also purchased some Vanguard Endeavor ED 8 X 42's. Thought he Bushnell Trophy are a bit cheaper the binos themselves are not as clear. Still, for the price, they are a good addition.
