This review is from: Bushnell Yardage Pro XG Golf GPS (Sports)
I purchased the Bushnell because it was one of the few Golf GPS I could get for under $100 (I got a $100 rebate). I just needed the yardage from Front, Middle, and Back and this device delivers. Plus, it tells you how far your hit your drives. About the size of a cell phone so easily fits into your pocket. Originally, I purchased the Bushnell NEO but found the numbers too small to easily read. The display on this model is much better.

Badly Designed, Bulky, Lousy software, Defective unit too,

I am now a total expert on Bushnell Golf GPS's having owned the Yardage Pros XG, XGC and Neo.Of these, the XGC was the only one that worked properly. It has problems, but I was able to read yardage. But this is an XG Review: Pros: Good Satellite Reception. Good data (with $35 subscription to iGolf - annual. But you can cancel after a year if you've already downloaded all the courses you want) Solidly made (though very bulky) Good Buttons Cons: Did not work on the first course I tried it on ("No Tee Box Found" error) The Display is low contrast. Some of the menus are impossible to read in sunlight because of their truly moronic interface design (highlighting black text with dark gray instead of using white text on dark). The Bottom Line: If this unit worked, I would've kept it, But the NEO or XGC are probably better choices. I think if the NEO actually worked that'd be my top pick(I had an issue with Windows 7x64 - or something - and it wouldn't load courses). Bushnell thought my problem was weird, so maybe it'll be better for you. BUT since the XGC DID work and seems to be a little bit more modern electronically (e.g. seems to recognize USB natively without pretending it's an old fashioned 1980s serial port), I think I may have to go back to the XGC. ALL I really want is something that tells me how far to the pin. How far to hazards or dog legs would be nice, but mostly I want distance to pin. Maybe I need a rangefinder, but I don't want to slow down play by pulling out a rangefinder on every shot. I want something where I can just glance at my bag and see the yardage. That's it. The NEO has its own issues, but if it worked, I think it's the most sensible tool for most golfers simply because it is the least intrusive. CUSTOMER SUPPORT: AWFUL!!! Bushnell provides no support email on their website. It takes at least 10 minutes to get someone on the phone. If you do get someone on the phone, they'll be able to answer routine questions, but not much else. They were supposed to get back to me about my defective unit. No call or email back. I get the feeling Bushnell simply doesn't want you to bother them.

I checked out alot golf gps's before I bought this one and for the money you can't go wrong with this unit. Simple to use, easy to read numbers and very accurate. All that I was looking for was yardage to center, front, back and how far I would hit a shot and it covers all of the above. It takes all of the guess work out of the game and if your not exactly in your fairway you get very accurate yardage. After the very first round one of my playing partners new that if he wanted to be playing at the same level he needed to get one as well. For you golfers who like me have been kicking this around for awhile, I hope this helps you out.

For the price this unit is hard to beat. If you want basic yardage to the middle of the green without a lot of fuss, this works just as advertised. I have had the unit for two months and have played 10 rounds at different courses in Arizona. I checked it against the yardage markers at the courses played and it has been accurate to within 1-2 yards every time. Turn it on and it aquires the satellites with-in seconds (at least in AZ.) There is plenty of contrast to see in bright sun light. Battery lasts at least two rounds. Clip is rather flimsy, but I bought a belt loop pocket camera holder that has a magnetic flap for $12.00 at Best Buy(works great). Highly recommend it.Bushnell Yardage Pro XG Golf GPS

Yardage Pro XG,

I received the Yardage Pro XG as a gift. I was amazed at how easy it was to download courses from iGolf! The unit worked perfectly the first time I went out on the golf course. Have not tried mapping a course because all the local courses I play are available on download. The Yardage Pro suits my needs perfectly as all I really want is distance to the hole. I like the ability to be able to score each hole for strokes and putts. Only downside is for a senior citizen with arthritis the function buttons are small. I have checked by Yardage Pro with other golfers in our league who have more expensive GPS and found mine to be within a yard of their distance. I like its size, screen and all the available features. Would definitely recommend it.

Very Poor Customer Service,

I bought this device and it would not sync with my computer, after three attempts with customer service, it finally worked, only to find out that my home course did not have the image files and I had to request them, after a two week wait, I was told it would not be available. Five calls later they finally decided to remap the course and it was wrong. Very frustrating to deal with. I finally remapped the holes myself but certainly will never buy their products again.

This is my third golf GPS. I had a Sky Caddie, but I got tired of the high yearly cost. I tired the IPhone application, but it's a huge power drain. Thisproduct worked fantastic. I've tried it on 3 different courses and I found the unit to be very easy to use, very quick to operate and very readable. This works much better than the previous two units I've tried. This was a great purchase and a very reasonable price.
