Using this rangefinder for archary deer hunting. Never thought it would be this easy to calulate distance insuring a good shot at distances between 15 & 100yards in wooded areas.I would recomend this
range finder to any hunter.

This is a nice little rangefinder. I bought an older model Bushnell a few years ago and was amazed at how long the battery lasted. I have been in the field with this new one a couple of times and it works great. I like the fact that it will measure from 5 yards being a bow hunter this is critical. And the size is perfect.

I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He likes
It a lot. It comes in handy especially for his job.
It's a single scope device. It would be better if it was double considering it's size. The most yards he's used it for was 400yards. Very happy with this product..

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Budget Laser Range Finder, 9 volt battery!!!, January 23, 2012

Pros:
Throw around laser range finder that is fine for reflective uses and in description is right on on ranging distances for general uses.
Reflective ranging performance: 999 yards
Tree ranging performance: 450 yards
Deer ranging performance: 200 yards

I would not use it for point targets at 400 where other laser range finders I have used have given me extended range uses in this area. This is a no BS right on data assessment and I proofed it in the field as 100% accurate. I bought mine for range use on weapon zeroing proofing in the field and as a throw around laser range finder for 800yds and under general work - it works fine.

Cons: That in order to switch from yards to meters, you have to open the battery compartment and manually flip a mini switch to do this. Other than that, none. An illuminated reticle would have been nice for low light, but for it's price what do you expect?

Bottom Line: The Bushnell Legend 1200 Scout has longer range and better point lazing but uses special CR2 batteries that are not always available to buy at your local drug store. The Bushnell Yardage Pro uses standard 9 volt battery's found everywhere and can take abuse and is not an expensive optic. It was meant to be used and abused for general use and is in a nice price range to do so. If you want point lazing on deer, I would look elsewhere for a laser range finder as you can easily judge this distance by a trained eye. For close work to 200 point it is fine, past that it is trees / objects for general zone area ranging.

Bushnell Yardage Pro Elite 1500 Reflective: 1600, Tree: 1000, Deer: 500 is a better optic at twice the price but ranges the extreme long shots on point shots and takes 9 volt batteries or the new version takes CR123 taclight batteries.

For a bang around entry laser range finder, this entry level range finder does the job and can be abused / put to harsh work without reservation or pampering equipment. It is made to be used and abused and light in weight.
