5.0 out of 5 stars Innovation Not New, June 6, 2010
This review is from: Business As Unusual: The People and Principles at Herman Miller (Hardcover)
With so much pressure to 'innovate or die' placed on everyone from the C-suite to the mail room, it was refreshing to get the perspective on how Herman Miller did it many years ago. Although this book was published over 20 years ago, there are many wonderful nuggets of wisdom that can be applied now and not just to your company, but to life as well. Among many, Mr. DePree writes about: Be alert to fortuitous encounters, be willing to risk, watch for entropy, give a person a chance, make someone responsible for making money, consider four C's - creativity, change, contradiction and care-, keep asking questions, and whistle while you work. Wonderful book!
